Oh the GM helping me is awesome. I think he thinks I'm 4 years old cause the quality of my ticket was... well. Anyway, that's a good thing because I don't understand anything he's saying.
So the lesson is behave like a child?

Free trial month of Netflix about to run out... now, do I actually start paying for it...?
That would depend on how often you're using it. Also, in my opinion, it would depend if you're referring to Netflix Streaming or the DVD service. The streaming, I think, is a great value but it doesn't have everything all the time. The DVD service has more options but you have to be proactive in what you wish to have delivered and you have to wait for the DVD's to arrive and to return them for another to be sent, etc. etc. The shipping is pretty fast but still, it's not going to compensate for streaming.
I do pay monthly for streaming (except at this moment where I temporarily switched to DVD because of a Film Class I'm taking that required films not available for streaming). Overall, how happy were you with the service? If you enjoyed it and used it, I'd say pay for it. There isn't any contract either so you can change your mind sometime down the road.
I just noticed you said this is the UK version. I'm not as familiar with that or the cost... but most of what I said should still apply I think anyhow.

Yeah as far as I'm aware there is no DVD service attached to Netflix here (yet? I dunno). I really like the idea of streaming and I'm very happy to pay for content I watch I just feel like I've watched a big chunk of what interested me in their catalogue already and a single month isn't enough to get an idea for how high the turnover of new content will be. I think I'll probably keep it on for another month and see how much new stuff gets added.

Use lovefilm in the meantime? That might have more stuff on offer as it's been going for a while.

If you want to choose between lovefilm and Netflix here is an interesting
review
.
And this is an
article
discussing the launch of Netflix in the UK and why they
did not
offer a physical DVD-by-post option there.
