Because you tend to complain when people necro unnecessarily, and you'd be being extremely hypocritical. :P

Well that is a fair point, but it's just so... boring

But it's just the forum games heh.
Well that is a fair point, but it's just so... boringI'm bored at the moment; have to wait a while before I can go anywhere, so figured I'd do something to kill the boredom.

Now that's a great plan, you're bored so you'll go do something more boring! I like it ^^
Jokes aside though, it actually could bring back some of the older (and amusing) forum games that's fallen off the front page as of late.

Woohoo, if I enlist, my $300/mo payments get suspended, then after two years, the $36,000 debt is waived.
Reason #1 for enlisting confirmed.

Well, that debt is owed to the DoD and was incurred as an ROTC scholarship.

What kind of engineer? That word applies to dozens of careers, even in the military, now.

doesn't matter.. I want to make guns, I want to fix air planes, I want to get my hands dirty in a air conditioned ware house. honestly, I do, even if the pay is 33,000 with all the benefits...

Well, the ones who make guns are private contractors, the ones who fix airplanes are found in all four branches, and I can't think of anyone who's job is confined to a warehouse in the military except maybe logistics personnel, but they aren't exactly getting their hands dirty.
Honestly, regardless of what career you want, the military probably has it.

Private contractors are the ones who make the guns? Isn't that a little scary? They can easily sell their stuff to other people that can potentially harm us.
Maybe I'll join the air force in a few years. I want to become an officer. Starting pay at 33k is something I can live off of along with the benefits. But the main goal is to serve our troops.

First, if you want a commission, you must have a college degree. Second, if you become an officer, you will spend most of your time in a leadership/supervisory position, and less of your time doing, that's one of the things that turned me off becoming an officer.
As for private contractors, Northrop Grumman builds almost all of our warships, Lockheed-Martin builds almost all of our aircraft and most of our ballistic missiles, and various gun manufacturers like Colt and H&R make most of our infantry weapons.

It's good to hear that you are moved by what you want to be doing, and not by pay. Good man u are! /salute

Umm...I said my number one reason for enlisting is to "repay" a $35,000 debt. :P
