Classic: Hillsbrad Foothills and Alterac Mountains, they are full of lore.
TBC: I really didn't like anything here.
WotLK: Dragonblight, the best quests there are, and Grizzly Hills, they look really good.

Classic: I really liked Aerie Peak. The place is gorgeous, and I love the "Saving Sharpbeak" quest.
BC: Zangarmarsh, because of the atmosphere.
WotLK: I've gotta say Howling Fjords. Maybe I'm just biased cause it's based on nordic heritage, and I'm Norwegian, heh.

Classic: Winterspring, just love that place.
BC: Nagrand, only place that had some light in it.

hmm, my favorite area in the ENTIRE game was probably The Hunterlands. You get about a dozen quests right off the bat and you can go and complete them all within an hour and a half, come back and be 3 or 4 levels higher then you were when you set out.

As far as questing goes, my choices are
Vanilla WoW: Stranglethorn, even though I was ganked on minutely basis.
The Burning Crusade: Nagrand
The Wrath of the Lich King: Dragonblight
For looks, I would go with Silithus, Nagrand (again) and the Dragonblight.

Vanilla: I always liked Mulgure.
BC: Nagrand, I didn't like the other Sci-Fi esque zones or the demon infested stuff. I loved Nagrand however, it's the kind of zone I think about when I picture WoW.
WoTLK: I've only been to Howling Fjord and Borean Tundra so far, and of the two I like Howling Fjord. Both are great, though.
