What is the Interface?
(as defined by WoWWiki)
The User Interface (UI) is the part of the game mechanic the player uses to interact with the game. The term generally refers specifically to the buttons, windows, and other controls the player sees when playing the game. Interfaces are altered by using "addons".
What a Macro?
(as defined by WoWWiki)
In the World of Warcraft, a macro is a method of combining several legal game actions to execute in a single button press or keystroke while in-game by predefined commands. Any other types of macros (external programs) are illegal.
At any time, you can have 18 macros that are available to all your characters on all servers within one account, and 18 other macros that are available to each specific character, for a total of 36 macros that each character has access to.
Instructions on how to Install/Uninstall an Add-on and/or a Macro
Once you've downloaded an addon you would like to use, navigate to your World of Warcraft folder.
Windows users
:
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns
or
Mac users
:
Finder -> Applications -> World of Warcraft -> Interface -> AddOns
. Extract the downloaded files into the above folders using an archive extractor (WinZip, PowerArchiver, WinRAR, built-in Windows tools, etc.). Make sure the addon has its own folder, and that it does not try to recreate another Interface\Addons directory.
To uninstall
simply delete the directory. No other action is required.
Open World of Warcraft, login and in the bottom left hand corner you will see a button called AddOns where you can disable or enable the addons you have. If the addon is "out of date" about 90% of the time you can check "Load Out of Date AddOns" and encounter little to no problems while playing.
To create a macro, login to World of Warcraft, enter the game and press the ESC key to get to the menu or /m to go directly to the Macro's Menu. Once you've selected the Macro menu a new window should pop up (ingame), click new and choose and icon from the list, name it and put in your macro functions. A majority of the macro function are the same as in-game, /s for say, /y for yell and so on. You can get more advanced with your macro's and make them do any number (while, not all) of things. See the below websites for premade macros to help you with your class actions.

Allowed to ask questions here? Well, i do it anyway x)
Iam looking for the addon / how to do so that i got background on my actionbuttons, so i can "integrate them" with my chatbox etc, so i will get a much cleanr look :)
Your looking for a way to give you action bar a background so that it matches with your chat-box? Try
eepanels2
. This allows you to make frames and modify the background textures and colors of these frames. Read the page in the link for more information on what eepanels can and cannot do.

Where's the x-perl???
It's there now, along with a few more additional add-ons that couldn't be added because curse was down for a bit.

I'm looking to replace my Perl Classic unit frames, Does anyone recommend either AG_UF or Pitbull over the other? Or is it more of a personal preference thing?

Imo, I like pitbull more over Ag_Unitframes as there's a lot more customization that can be done.

There's a whole slew of them. I would suggest linking those, as people can fiddle around with them easily compared to sometimes never-updated threads on the wow forums.

If you define macros specifically as being code inside that frame in the WoW UI, then that's another matter. Depending on how in-depth your f.a.q. wants to get, that could be something to note, or it could be something to quietly ignore :q

hello everybody, here is my user generated problem: I tried to install Mazzler UI, cuz of the clean simetrycal looks it has. unfortunately, in my rush to get it over with, I forgot to rename the previous interface folder so the new one fully replaced it. I didn't really understand actually if I was supposed to copy the contents of the interface folder provided by Mazzler or the entire folder...
in any case, my question is: does anyone have any idea on what should I do? I like the screenshots made with this UI and I would like to have it on my laptop at a certain point, but I am too lazy in order to reinstall wow... is there any other way? maybe reinstalling a different UI and then reverting it to Mazzler? and if so which one would be best?

How did it get replaced? If you had the older interface folder in there and you take a new one named interface aswell but contains a new addon and drop it in it will only add the new content and overwrite anything that's the same in both folders.

I want a macro that does this, how do i do it?:
First it should do /me Gathers elemental energy in his left hand
Then it should /cast Earth Shock
Finished off with /say PALM OF DOOM!
in that order. I've tried it like that and no matter wut it acknowledges the /say before the /me... how do I get it to.. wait for the /me to go thru first and THEN do the rest?

I was watching a video of a #1 Druid / Hunter Arena play, and the Hunter had a cast bar for his auto-shot! I would really find this function useful for my Hunter.
I've tried eCastingBar and AzCastBar and can't get it to work (although I found eCastingBar very beneficial).
Any suggestions?

The Quartz casting bar addon has a swing/shot timer as part of it's functionality.
That's the one that I use and it makes a difference in weaving the special shots in amongst the autoshots to maximize damage output.
