You guys are ALL missing the point
The child stayed up for 24 hours and got sick, and honestly, i could care less how long you can stay up, he stayed up late, and he got sick
Furthermore, for all we know, the child could have had a pc in his room and the parents might have assumed that their 15 year old boy, and at 15, the child can make logical choices, went to bed
Furthermore, at the age of 15, the boy does not fall under the 13 and under crowd, which hamstrings the parents some more.
Also, how many of you have stayed up until 4 or 5 in the morning at a sleepover and thought nothing of it, it is not fair to harp on these parents for this, because for all we know, they could have assumed otherwise.
Its easy to blame the parents, its harder to blame the addiction that many people have
We're not blaming the parent's.
We're cracking on the parents because as soon as it happens they blame the video game.

And this is truly the reason that Blizz should put a time limit on this game,
Iam not saying like 4 hours, but if you are less than say, 16, 24 hours awake can be very dangerous
Furthermore, in South Korea they wanted to ban this game(not sure if they did,,,,) because numerous kids legit DIED playing,,,,
Most likely farming or raiding, because you can do something like that for a long period of time but my point is, there should be a point that Blizz cuts the cord
One of the worst ideas I have ever heard.

You voted for McCain didn't you?
And furthermore, Blizzard DOES have a responsibly to the customer, its called consumer protection, you might heard about it.
In it, it says that companies in no way can harm an individual, both directly
and indirectly
You all seem to ignore the indirect part of it....
OK, lets start with cigarette and alcohol companies then, they do far worse than MMORPGs

Those have ages on them though that you can buy them at, ie 18 and 21 respectively and as such a 14 year old cannot buy them and over indulge in them
Ever heard of a non-sequiteur?
Being legally able to purchase (or not) and over indulgence are VERY different things.

Why is it that blizzard has to hold such a high responsibility for this child, when the parent doesn't?
If that's the case, then the parent should have to hold the same or MORE responsibility than a video game company.
This whole argument is rediculous.

My logic is simple and its soundSimple, yes. Sound? hell no.
This game is fun as we all know since we are posting on a forum based on one game
However, this game is addictive and as such i am calling for Blizz to simple out a mini ban for around 6 hours on people that play the game for over 24 hours, especially if the people are younger than 18.I disagree. First, start putting mandatory stopping of supply from tobacco and alcohol companies to retailers who order more than X units in a given timeframe.
This has to do with simple health concerns, seen here in this child passing out, playing this addicting game and he went to the
HOSPITAL
At 15, I pulled several allnighters, its not hard. There is something underlying that is not to do with the length of time played that caused this.
I passed out doing uni work more than once, maybe my uni should reduce the time I can spend woirking!
What more do you want from this company, people dieing at the computer playing
would that be enough to enact such a time limit on this game,,,
O wait, around a dozen people have
OOPS!
I guess when its your kid or friend thats different huh?
Non-sequitur, slippery slope, false association, false authority, the list of logical fallacies goes on...
