i dont want to get disease if i dont want
. i dont care about how many people enjoy it. but it is wasting my
fun
time. over 20 people go to Black Temple and waiting for disease people die, and recover his/her body and repair -if they can find repair guy alive ofc-.
C'mon! those events are for casuals i understand. and ofc if no casuals means no money. but, this is really annoying when you try to get your raiding activity high.
i dont want to stop playing till wotlk up. because i am social member of my guild. i have friends. We have aims. we having fun. why should we run away from plague, why should we try to find clear area, and hide ourselves from zombies.
i am sorry but blizzard makes wrong. there is no world event like this. if you dont want to kill "headless horseman" , you wont kill it. or if you dont want to kiss all guardians of your city, you wont kiss them.
Why blizzard forces people to involve that terrible event?
and why so many people defends that event?
i told my opinion, i hate this event. because i have no choice to involve in it, or not......
edit: some grammer
It's grammar. Like Immaterial said, if you want to avoid the plague... move to a lower populated/more or less zombie-free area. Crossroads/the Barrens/Hillsbrad etc etc are bad choices. As is Org/Stormwind. Silvermoon/Exodar are quite empty, and there is usually an area or two as you level that are more or less uninhabited... Desolace was a good choice, same with Feralas. You're wrong about this being the first event that ignores whether you want to take part by the way. I'm wagering a guess you weren't here for the lead-up to TBC.
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=18338
He would spawn at main cities and you would have NO way whatsoever of fighting back, because as soon as a lowbie dies to his shadow bolt volley... he gains health. Obviously with the amount of lowbies in capitals, there was no way to counter him.
I'm sorry that such a uh... "hardcore" player can't handle the relatively simple idea of killing hostile NPCs and players that are trying to impede your game choices. I'm no where near a casual, but I enjoy new events. I don't feel the need to cry about losing durability when I get killed by NPCs, and I sure as hell won't complain about someone's choice of griefing if I am more than capable of avoiding them or taking them down. If you're too stubborn to take the advice given in these threads, then it's your own fault for getting plagued. This game doesn't revolve around what you want (or anyone else in particular for that matter).
Edit: I r fail@typing.

Well it's nice to hear everyone's thoughts on this, glad to know I'm not the only one who finds this boring. Everyone who says on here that they are having fun, you WILL get bored of this soon, and maybe start to feel the same way.
People are saying why not join in the fun? Being a zombie was hilariously funny, FOR HALF A DAY, if you are still finding this entertaining I am amazed. Yes there are quests you can do as I hoped there would be, and some nice epics available for people who are newly 70. But I went to the place marked skull on my map with a group expecting a bit of fun - it was just a chaotic tag-fest (worse than Quel'Danas!) and all I got was some wizard oil and 300 argent dawn rep. Would have been nice to get Argent CRUSADE rep (i.e. actually useful rep), and maybe a little gold to cover my huge repair bill.
I agree it's a nice concept, but why not just for the week before the expansion, not THREE WEEKS?

Holy crap. 4 pages of crying, bitching, and moaning.
November 23,2004, the game was released. So we're looking at the 4 year anniversary soon. When's the last time something that altered the game to this degree in
four years
happend? Embrace it as something new.
Jesus christ it's not hard to avoid, and there's plenty of other things you can do in game besides visit a major city (since that's where the infection is most widespread).
I laugh at the whiners, the tantrums, and each and every stupid scrubby little nothing that "quits" until the expo or quits altogether. Over this? Glad you're gone.
It's an event. And in the timespan of WoW, it's a minor event. Deal with it.
QQ moar. Your tears taste like Ambrosia. Delicious.

It's classified as a Level 80 disease. That's why your Level 21 Priest can't cure it. Level 70 Priests can if it's cast numerous times. One of them will stick (if you're lucky).
The point is that it's not supposed to be easily cured. It's supposed to be difficult.

WotLK is something new. This is just annoying. More so because it interferes with preparations for the expac. Loosing the ability to make 70 before Wraith arrives is not minor it will effect your progress in Wraith end game for the next several months, just as not making 60 by the release of BC did.
Staying away from the majors cities to avoid the plague does not work on my server. Here is why. The scum that enjoy interfering with other peoples play have organized systematic infections of entire regions. Two night ago I parked my toon at the inn in Theramore because its possible for him to level there and that seemed a reasonably good compromise between losing rested bonus and being inundated by Zombies. When I logged in, there were upwards of 50 Zombies roaming the town in packs and systematically ensuring that the FP and most of the NPCs stayed dead, the boats were unusable and the town remained wiped out.
As for the 70's defending the cites, on my server they were defending the few surviving healers so that cleansing remained possible. The majority of the city was completely over run. Portals were contaminated and the FPs with the exception of IF could not be defended. I haven't logged in the morning to who got bored first the Zombies or the defenders.
Many of my guild filed tickets to get this stopped. I plan to as well. For those of yo who are tired of this I suggest that as our best alternative. Bury Blizz in tickets.

Well it's official NO MORE PLAGUE as of noon pst today! according to wow insdier:
http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/10/27/the-undead-plague-ends-today/
Carry on
We'd like to thank players for participating so zealously (and valiantly!) during the Great Zombie Plague of '08. Our intention with this event was to create something memorable and to literally change the face of Azeroth for a few days. This event is just one of many leading up to Wrath of the Lich King. As you know, the Scourge Invasion is now live as well and there is some other cool stuff coming up before all is said and done. Also, Hallow's End continues on!
While we recognize that the event could prove to be disruptive at times, we hope you made the most out of it while it lasted. Part of playing in a "living and breathing world" means that things are going to change from time to time.
We meant no harm but only wanted to create a lasting impression on players
as they head to Northrend to defeat the Lich King. The Lich King's goals (as you will soon learn) are to turn the Horde and Alliance not only on one another, but on their own kind as well. I think the plague truly demonstrated this firsthand.
So it looks like a cure has finally been found… for now.
Thank you for participating in our most memorable event to date… for better or for…. brrrrrrraaaaaains…
Bolding and italics added. If this was so well received by the majority they would not be apologizing for it. Who knows maybe they learned something....

This would be a prime example of a QQ post.
If you honestly can't figure out a way around the zombies, just cancel your account. Or better yet, follow the other toddlers and just quit until the game is easier for you.
Filing tickets with Blizzard huh? I can almost hear the GM's laughing.
It's over anyway. Just give yourself a hug, wipe away the tears of it "not being fair" and "not being fun", and just tell yourself it's all over now. Much like a kid that decided to have a temper tantrum and whine.

And this is why the event is bad. Do you actually think that Blizzard wants to lose customers? Maybe you would feel better if those who complain left...but I'm pretty sure Blizzard does not share your opinion.
The event may be gone, but the hard feelings are just starting. Most people who wanted to be come a zombie who got killed/cured by a PC are going to resent those PCs for 'ruining their fun'. Everyone who didn't want to become a zombie is going to resent those high levels who infected low level zones.
And people who just started playing did not necessarily find this event epic; they may have decided that they wasted $15.99 of their money and won't be back. And I'm reasonably sure that was also not Blizzard's intention.
Besides, why did so many people 'want' to become a zombie? Isn't becoming a zombie a bad thing? Unless you really want to attack your fellow players with impunity...
Obviously Blizzard cares about the players as they put the ax to the event alot earlier than planned. Your opinion is moot, same as mine.
The hard feelings are just starting huh? Again, Blizzard won't give a rat's ass. It's over. Move on.
So the handful of people that "just started" quit huh? Any proof of that, or are you just talking out of your colon? I'm willing to bet it's the latter.
I don't know why people want to become a zombie. I'm willing to bet it's the same reason people still pug MC or BWL. Because they find it's fun. If you don't find the event fun, or easy to avoid, your solution is simple.
Don't play
.
