The biggest annoyance with other players?

what bothers me most.
is the fact that there are still people out there that don;t know how to play a dps class.
when some hunter/rogue (never got any problems with mages might be a bit subjective) during raids is putting out less dps and total damage then the OT.
and this hasn;t got anything to do with gear
That annoys me because playing WoW is pretty easy.
I don't know how to play a DPS class. I have no freakin' idea how to do it.
But that's 'cos I play a healing class. I never dps 'cos I'm always healing. And so, I don't know how to dps. But that's inconsequential, because no one ever wants a pally doing dps anyway.
It does bother me, however, when someone asks me to tank.
Tanking on a holy pally is nigh on impossible, especially if you only have the one set of gear and don't know what you're doing.
It may be "possible if you try" But when you don't have a clue, you're not specced for it and you're not geared for it, you really can't do it. Especially when the only advice you get is "OMG NOOB YOU SUCK AT TANKING GTFO". I've had that before when I finally gave in to a million pst's bugging me to tank for them.
Needless to say, I don't instance much any more except with guildies.

.on the server i play on, im used to passing on boss drops and then /roll for them after. and since i started a mage alt, thats what i do. i joined a pug for SM-Grave, the off hand orb dropped from last boss, everyone passed it except this warlock. he said he needed it, i said wait pass it and then lets roll on it. but noo, he freaking needs it and says too bad noob.
Now, I never understood this idea. Why would you pass on a roll, only to rolla again? Isn't this wjhy the need/greed roll was implemented?
That's what I'm wondering. The general rule I play with is that If it's better then what you have, and you can use it. Need. Otherwise Greed or Pass.
If two classes can use an item and it's better, say that Orb in SMGrave, why would you go through the extra to pass, then roll and get the item?

One thing I remember while levelling my warrior.
I had a shaman attack me while on 75% hp and fighting a mob. Popped cooldowns and managed somehow to kill him, quickly healed up. Hoped that be beating him despite being disadvantaged would have discouraged him from attacking me again - hopefully gets on to questing himself and leaving me to quest. I usually even /wave and /hello players of the opposite faction, I'm definately not aggressive towards them.
I have him set to my focus so I can see who he is targeting while I fight a mob. He heals up, targets me, and starts casting a lightning bolt at me. Ofcourse I quickly turn around and kill him again.
But the WORST part is when they get backup to help kill you, as if you instigated the battle and won't leave THEM alone. I mean if you're going to attack and lose, admit defeat. Don't gather an overwhelming force to feel superior in order to take down 1 guy who was just defending himself from you in the first place. Epeen must be going through the roof.
/end rant, until I can think of anything else inwhich case I will edit.

When you ask a player if they want to join a group and they dont reply back. They could at least say no instead of just ignoring you.
Also when people need to leave groups halfway through an instance. Thats bloody anoying.
Here, here! These are my two biggest ones, too! It's so frustrating when you're obviously doing the same quest as another person and you ask politely if they want to group up to get it done faster (especially when you're both waiting for the same "boss" or named mob that only pops once every x number of minutes/hours/etc.) and they completely ignore you.

US vs Them
Many players don't seem to realize that Blizzard views Warcraft as one game. So divisions sprout up (often vehement ones) created by the players along any number of lines. The most obvious example is Horde vs. Alliance in which each side cries that Blizzard devs only play the other, but it trickles down to mages and hunters fighting it out, BM vs. MM specs, etc. Blizzard gives you the options and you choose to play what and how you want; why would you try to spew rancor towards other players for the choices of the development team and the player's personal choices on their playstyle?
The answer is clear... teens on a playground. Young children on a playground are naturally inclusive and will often play with each other regardless of race, creed, or other socioeconomic factors. Teens will divide themselves along those lines just to have something to claim as their own. Teens in a game (and the adults who allow themselves to revert or who never matured past that stage) will do the same, do it en masse, and do it with all the anonymity the internet allows.
One thing I've noticed about M rated games like Conan and Hellgate London is that they suffer less from these types of divisions. Discussion of differences and apparent advantages/disadvantages is great... when it devolves into a flamewar with the forum members being referred to as 'dickwads' and told to 'stfu', then most benefit from the discussion is lost.

My biggest pet peeve? Let me give you a little backstory...
My three roommates and I all run a 4-man consisting of an Ele shammy, a Prot pally, a Feral kitty druid, and a BM hunter. When we go to do a big instance - say, BRD - we'll get a dedicated healer (we've got a friend who runs a Priest but isn't on very much).
So the shammy and I ding 62, the druid and hunter are 60. We're standing around in Honor Hold and I asked if we might try Ramps. The druid player has a 70 SPriest main that has run it and says sure, we should be able to do it but we'll need a healer. I pop into LFG and there's a 63 priest waiting. I send a tell, invite her, and then wait.
First thing I get in party is, "We don't have a Warrior? And we've got two 60s?" I'm like, "Uhh... no. But I'm Prot spec, the druid has an off-tank gear set, and we'll have three of us to do back-up heals if it really comes down to it."
Next thing I know I'm whispered, "Sorry, I'm going to be a bitch..." <quit>
I replied back, "Oh. Okay. Thanks for being a bitch, it means we don't have to share loot with you." We went on to clear the instance except for the fire-spewing dragon boss at the end.
Yes, we're lacking in crowd control. Yes, we've got three hybrid classes and the red-headed stepchild that is a hunter.
Who cares??
I feel pity for the people out there that refuse to even try an instance unless they've got
"the build"
. I know that raids are a little different, but gimme a break - if you can't take a balanced five-man and make any non-raid instance work then you need to work on your "mad skillz", cuz they ain't so mad - more like moderately perturbed.

If i gave everybody a mage table, every AV i did,
I'd be fucking broke out my ass.
Yeah, that 8s worth of reagents is a real bank-breaker. You'd have to farm for literally seconds -- maybe even
tens
of seconds! -- to make that kind of money. If only there were mobs that dropped coins in AV...
More annoyances:
mages complaining about the cost of mage tables in AV.
people complaining about AFKers in AV.
people who talk down to others for not having full epics.

And to think, the rest of world have to buy 7200mana/30sec for 80silver for a stack of
5
waters. And then another 80s for the food.
Because being able to make all your own food and water for a little time and mana didn't save you hundreds of gold over the course of your WoW playing time. 8s my arse. I should complain about how I have to kill a mob to get a soulshard to make a Soulportal.
But I don't, because I like making them to help the raid/bg. I usually end up making 2-3.
Once at the cave. Once at the next GY that hasa bunch of alliance hanging around to regroup, and once outside Drek'thar. If we get that far.
Also for the other classes. Gift of the Wild, Greater Blessing of .., Prayer of Fortitude, don't cost reagents?
