Have a guide to item links:
Ingame, item links basically look like this: (This is
)
|cff9d9d9d|Hitem:7073:0:0:0:0:0:0:0|h|h|r
This is made up of multiple sections, first it starts with '
|c' which tells the game to change the text colour, followed by an 8 character code which says what colour to set it (The item quality colours are:
ff9d9d9d for poor,
ffffffff for common,
ff1eff00 for uncommon,
ff0070dd for rare,
ffa335ee for epic, and
ffff8000 for legendary). Then there's a '
|H' to tell it what it wants this link to be for. After the '
|H' is either "
spell", "
item" or "
quest". I'll just explain how to do item ones unless anyone asks for the others. The part just after '
item' is all called an 'item string', and it tells the game all sorts of info about the client. It's split up like this:
item:
ItemID:
EnchantID:
GemID1:
GemID2:
GemID3:
GemID4:
SuffixID:
UniqueIDBasically:
ItemID: This is the item number of whatever you are linking. You can find this out by finding the item you want to link on wowhead and look in the address for "item=
TheItemIDIsHere". Broken Fang is 7073.
EnchantID: This is the ID of whatever enchantment is given to this weapon. Find this out again on wowhead by looking for whatever enchant you want (I've chose
Enchant Gloves - Fishing), then look at the Effect - It will say something like "Enchant Item (
TheEnchantIDIsHere)". In case of my fishing enchant, the ID is 846.
GemID1-4: These are the gems that are currently in the item. Don't ask why there is four, I don't know. I'm not sure how you find this out.
SuffixID: This is stuff like "...of the boar", "...of Frost Resistance", etc. There's a big list
here.
UniqueID: Leave this as 0 if you like, it's nothing important.
After the item string is '
|h' which tells it what text to show in the chat. This
must be the actual name of the item, or you won't be able to link it to anyone! Don't forget to put around the name too. Once you typed out the name, it's just '
|h|r' to tell it that the link is finished.
An example link: This is "Broken Claw" again, with the +2 fishing, and it's Of The Gorilla:
|cff9d9d9d|Hitem:7073:846:0:0:0:0:924:0|h|h|r
That's "Broken Fang of the Gorilla" with +2 Fishing, +1 Int and +1 Strength. Who said dentists were failures?
To get your link into the game, replace all
| (pipes) with
\124, and put it in the following:
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("YOURLINKGOESHERE");
Ie, my example link is:
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("\124cff9d9d9d\124Hitem:7073:846:0:0:0:0:924:0\124h\124h\124r");
You can get some pretty fun links ingame with this :D You can't link some items with silly suffixes though, my example unfortunately falls victim to this. If you want to link my fishing tooth ingame, use:
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("\124cff9d9d9d\124Hitem:7073:846:0:0:0:0:0:0\124h\124h\124r");
Also, x0reaper0x, read it and reap. (I'm so sorry, I couldn't resist :( )

Read the part of my guide about enchant ids:
EnchantID: This is the ID of whatever enchantment is given to this weapon.
Find this out again on wowhead by looking for whatever enchant you want (I've chose Enchant Gloves - Fishing), then look at the Effect - It will say something like "Enchant Item (TheEnchantIDIsHere)". In case of my fishing enchant, the ID is 846.
For example, go to
Enchant Weapon - Executioner. Scroll down to the big box saying "Spell Details". In there is a row called "Effect". It says:
Enchant Item Permanent (3225)
3225 is the EnchantID.
Again, incase you missed it: Find another enchant like
Enchant Weapon - Spellfrost. Scroll down and find that Effect box. It says:
Enchant Item Permanent (3273)
3273 is the EnchantID.
Edit: Oh, you edited your post. To anyone thinking I'm talking to myself; He asked how you find out the enchant IDs.
