Still failing:
http://i.imgur.com/DZllRIa.png
Still getting 500 errors from zamimg. Still can't use the site for what i need..
I've blocked wow.zamimg.com on the hosts file and now the website works perfectly. Apart from the fact that half the images and none of the 3D models work.
I'm pretty sure they use zamimg for image hosting so you didn't do anything helpful if they fix it. Today for me it works. But I've seen the problem returning before.

Now it all loads just fine like it used to, except most images and all 3D models don't load. The whole zamimg web hosting is broken on our end.

We took the site down briefly for maintenance yesterday again, and the initial migration seems successful. Hopefully the loading issues will be better now moving forward.

Everything is still the same, if i go to outfits none of the images load and clicking on an outfit just makes it go into an long or infinite loop. None of the 3D models load, showing only a black screen with "waiting for wow.zamimg.com" as always. Sometimes the 3D model loads but no icons or textures, just a white model.

The past few days it's just been getting worse. 95% of images never loading. The icons database is completely unusable, everything is just blank.
I'm not even getting a HTTP code, images are just loading until they time out.
Edit: strangely, the medium sized icons (usually) load. It's the large ("original") sizes that are broken. Maybe this info helps?

And recently, maps have stopped loading. They all worked a few days ago.

We are looking into the issue - to narrow down the cause of the issue, can people try clearing cache now that we have a new server? Also make your hosts file is not pointing wow.zamimg.com to some other IP.

Routing my connection through Ukraine the website loads everything perfectly. As i've said before the issue here seems to be that some specific european ISP is blocking wow.zaming.com so wowhead can't load any resources on our browsers. Is there a way to tunnel or bypass this using hosts file? Is there a specific IP i can redirect my traffic to force it to come from another node?

What IP address does wow.zamimg.com point to on your normal (non-TOR) connection? Can you do a traceroute to that IP and share that? (you can mask the first few hops if you like).(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Erorus##DELIM##

I'm having the same issue, wow.zamimg.com breaks down to 23.13.113.179. I can trace route to it, and ping it, but still can't load any 3D views, or user submitted screenshots.

What does

On what pages, exactly?

Also getting the image problem on some pages, like the latest news post about the Orgrim poster, it never loads. For me wow.zamimg.com is often pointing to 23.37.98.80. Results in error 500. Happens on Edge, Chrome and Firefox. Also cannot use dressing room since the textures never load.
Here's my traceroute to that server,

I'm in Sweden with Bredbandsbolaget (Telenor) as my ISP. My other friends here in Sweden have the exact same issues, even on different ISPs.
Here's my traceroute:
leo$ traceroute wow.zamimg.com

Took a while, but eventually loaded.
For me, it's pretty inconsistent. And sometimes just slow... like, really, really slow but eventually things load. But often things just never load at all. If it's hosted on the wowhead domain, I never have any issues and things load instantly (even images, like some UI elements). It's definitely wow.zaming.com that is the issue.
For example on this page, Ruiru's avatar won't load but Erorus' will.
Clearing my cache has no effect, and I've tried different browsers and they all have the same issues. It seems very likely that wow.zaming.com has some routing issues going to Sweden.

Strange. Thanks for the IPs and traceroutes, I'll forward them to our ops team, which has an issue open with Akamai for this.
It looks to me like you're hitting the correct edge servers (since they're only a few hops and very low ping away). No idea why they're so slow for you. When I make requests against those same exact IPs, they work consistently and quickly (and they're at least 18 hops away from me).

I've set my personal hosts file to use one of the offending zamimg edge nodes. I'd like to see how it misbehaves first-hand. So I'll probably feel your pain very soon. :)

But once i click on the thumbnails from a news post that image doesn't load. the 3D models NEVER work, sometimes they load a white model with the ocasional hair texture.

http://www.wowhead.com/news=252294/
- none of the images are loading. Only the text. All images output the following error:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)
TOR browser routes me through Romania and everything works perfectly.
