Levelling up, people have Heirlooms etc making the initial dungeons pretty easy to skim through, what level are you up to and have you done heroics and any raiding yet? Without that it is a little too early to say whether it is still easy don't you think?

Any time someone tells me the game is too easy, I always tell them the same thing: Show me your Heroic Garrosh 25 achievement kill.
Suddenly the game isn't so easy anymore is it?
The only difference between today and the vanilla/TBC days is that back then, hard mode was the only thing there, while today there's multiple difficulty modes. And the heroic modes today are REALLY brutal.
Even normal modes aren't a breeze. It took me quite a while (3 months) to kill garrosh on 25man normal.

This 99.9% of the time.
and for those 0.1% If it's easy what took you so long?
OP, There is a reason LFR is referred to as Tourist Mode, try some real raiding.
As for the rest of your question, heirlooms, Blizzard wanted to make levelling as fast as possible so players can get to end game content.
Edit:-
Dungeons are a basic training tool now, in the loosest sense of the word.
If BC dungeons were as hard as they were back in the day then most people would not do them, quite rightly IMO you shouldn't have to gear up to do levelling content.

Yes the game has became way too easy, Blizzard are cattering for kids to gain more players, sorry to be negativity but it's the truth, besides that raids are still good they're different/challenging and you still have heroic if you still want that extra thrill.
Hope i helped.

Always hate this cookie cutter reply, show me some proof for the average age playing this game?
I am in my 40's, my father plays who is in his 60's, all of my guild are in their 20's, 30's and 40's with a few 18yo's.
I have four lads, all of them play free to play games, WoT and such, none of them subscribe to anything.

Raiding is still challenging- at normal and Heroic levels. They added less challenging modes for more casual players to see more content, but actually getting the best end game gear, and defeating the bosses on their highest difficulty is still quite the challenge. LFR is not really raiding- it's like story-mode for the raids. Flex is much easier than normal, though at least all the normal mechanics are typically there. If you haven't at least done SoO on normal (not LFR or flex) difficulties, then you have no basis upon which to say anything about the ease of raiding because you haven't done any.

I sorta feel like this is a complete non-answer. Your first line says it's way too easy, but then you go on to say that raids are challenging. Seems like a bit of a contradiction to me.
On topic: There are definitely aspects of the game that are extraordinarily easy, such as leveling, particularly with RAF and heirlooms. There are also some definite challenges, such as 5-man challenge modes and heroic raiding. Like so many things in life, you pretty much get out what you put in.

Made a slight adjustment there :P
The first six bosses are indeed very easy, but they're intended to gear up the group, the actual difficulty in SoO ramps up significantly the deeper one goes inside, and Garrosh is quite the brutal and challenging fight even on normal.
Killing garrosh on normal is quite the accomplishment as its one of the most challenging final bosses released in years, and his heroic version is among the hardest fights ever made. Ra-den and heroic Lei Shen are equally challenging and punishing.
I'd agree that LFR is not raiding, its just a way to see the story behind the raids but there's no real challenge there and any real coordinated group can mow down those bosses without even trying (The difficulty in LFR comes from trying to get 25 strangers to work together and pull their weight)
And Flex is more like practice mode for the bigger fishes.

If you came from MUDs or Everquest 1 before WoW, even WoW at launch was pitifully easy.
It's all about perspective.

Easy as in better, more convenient, smoother mechanics, yes I agree.
It's called progress and it's an unstoppable march.
Just because something was unnecessarily hard does not make it a good thing and It's kind of annoying when people wield just how unsophisticated older games were in comparison as a club to try browbeat current gamers into thinking that back in their day things were somehow better, They weren't!

Its more about what you like to do. Unless your only reason playing is to quest and kill random non-elite monsters chances are the game isn't "Too Easy" you're just looking in the wrong spots....
If you like doing dungeons do some heroic or challenge modes
if you like raids, join a guild that's doing heroics
if you like pvp try to top the arena ladder
Unless you are doing those things the game can and will get harder, you're just looking at dungeons designed to help new players level up and get used to the game of course its going to be easy, those dungeons where not designed to be hard.
TL;DR: STOP DOING CRAP THAT IS DESIGNED TO BE EASY IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGE!

THIS.
Exactly. Also :
It's all about perspective.
Easy is relative. What might have been an easy, blow through dungeon for you may have been quite a challenge for a new tank or healer who is still learning their class.
This is true in life, period.
As a working scientist, I am well aware that concepts and projects I find easy are often quite difficult for most people.
And ActiBlizz is not "catering to kids" - they are expanding their playerbase to be attractive and fun to more than just the hardcore raiders or PvPers - (who they finally realized were always a minority anyway; they were just an extremely loud, rude, belligerently vocal minority).
For us CareBears there are certainly more entertainment options now than there were back in TBC.

Yes, because the difficulty of Heroic Garrosh 25 is totally identical to the difficulty of Maraudon...

There is nothing else to argue, if it were that easy more than 3% of the wow-world would have done it.
I disagree.
Just because the game may be "easy" to some players, the game still requires a time commitment. You can't simply kill 25H Garrosh because you're just that good. You have to put in several hours a week for several weeks to gear up everyone to a point where you can even reasonably attempt the boss. Often, this time commitment is too much for many players (which lead to the creation of different difficulty levels).
