Suggestions for acquiring tank gear at 90?

My retribution paladin has finally hit 90, and after crafting a couple of items and running a few dungeons, my iLvl got to 436, which lets me enter heroics.
Now, my Paladin was nothing but protection back in BC and Wrath (I never played her through Cata). I leveled to 90 as retribution, but now I want to get back into tanking.
What do you suggest is the best way to get tank gear, without having to wait weeks for Valor items?
I bought the Forest set from the Pearlfin village when I was 85, but naturally that won't sustain me through a heroic.
I've also been running heroics as DPS and rolling need on tank items if the tank didn't want them (I always ask first). Slowly been building up that way.
Any suggestions are helpful, thanks!

This is what I've been doing.
It really helps when I end up as the sole plate wearer in the group, and the tank is neither warrior nor paladin. Of course that's totally random.
It took me about two weeks to get a tanking set of about 455, running 1-3 dungeons a night this way.

The scenario, arena of annihilation has a quest for a 450 weapon and would be a good start. This is the new ring of blood for MoP. Take note that this is a single use quest, so choose wisely.
Shields are relativity easy for blacksmiths to make and are 463. If you have access to a blacksmith or can find one for a reasonable price on the AH, that might be a good option.
Trinkets have been an issue for most new 90s that I've seen. If you have Justice Points, the mogu rune of protection isn't terrorable, but if you only need one, you can do better. I would suggest doing the quest line 'meet the scout' in Krasang wilds that you should have gotten at 90. That unlocks Operation: Shieldwall, and their Quartermaster. Op:SW has 458 trinkets for all specs at a price of 1750 JP and 496 valor gear if you keep on the dailies. I think that's a pretty good faction to do if you only wanna do one to unlock valor gear.
As a prot/ret pally, you're in a unique situation. For us, haste and mastery are good stats for both specs (though haste is due for a nerf next patch). As long as it doesn't have crit, it's going to be a good tanking piece. If there's anything else that *needs* replacing, the crafted 450 conqueror gear will be a good option. PVP gear no loses pve stats to add resil, so it will be equal to any other 450 piece.
Good luck and Happy Tanking :).

A guide for you:
Gearing up when you hit 90
Note that this doesn't cover dungeon drops.
Justice or Crafted items would probably be best if you're not willing to wait to get Honored with factions.
Cheers.

That guide needs serious reworking considering it ignores anything below 458 which is well above the threshold for heroics.
Good starting point would be to find a max skilled Blacksmith with a full set of tanking gear recipes and bribe him for a set.
186
Ghost Iron Ore
20 each
Black Trillium Ore
and
White Trillium Ore
30
Kyparite
and if he's willing to part with 5
Spirit of Harmony
Will get you a full 8 pieces of ilevel 450 tanking armor and a 463 hammer and shield. Using DPS items for the other slots for the time being will suffice and put you well above what you need to tank 5 mans.

Well thanks for the comment in the guide about 450 level pieces. I did miss those.
I guess our definition of 'serious reworking' differs though, as I put a hell of a lot of effort into the guide, and adding the 450 gear will only be a minor adjustment.
Cheers.

If you're wanting to tank and you hit 90 and can't, you've done something wrong.

Maybe you've hit 90 while spec'd for DPS/PvP or Healer/DPS or PvP/Healer and you have yet to fully build a tank set since you have leveled up from PvP.
To answer the original post: start grinding dungeons until you get a full tank set, and while waiting for the queue start farming for materials or gold to buy materials or to buy some tanking gear to be able to tank better. If you want the exact pieces just search on WoWHead for level 90 items.

Also, for Pro Pallies, Haste is a very good stat. Don´t be afraid to run LFD and get dps gear, and then just reforge it around.
Heroics are very forgiving in MoP and more than likely you will have overgeared dps in there with you. Mark a skull target and you should be ok.
