The Brewery is an excellent location that tells the grand story of the Stormstouts.

About as much as your icon is an excellent picture that tells the grand story of the Adamsm's...
It is a location with a vermin problem and a "
humorously careless and scatterbrained panda dude
". It doesn't really tell anything. The pandaren spirits everywhere just spew witty remarks. The Stormstout spirit at the beginning doesn't really give you much lore. There are no books.

To be honest the Vo4W questline and Li Li's Travel Journals explain the story behind Stormstout Brewery better than the instance does. You only see like a little sliver of what actually happens when you run the instance normally. In fact, I can't blame people for thinking the instance is like what the OP thinks given only what they see when running the instance.Did you ever notice that The Stormstouts always tell a different joke when you are about to go up the stairs to the final chamber? I started paying attention to it a few days ago when I heard Them say something to the effect...
"Do you think these undead are very brave?"
and the other responds,
"No, I don't think they have the guts."
I was rofl.
I ^&*!ing love the jokes.

It is the closure of the Chen´s questline in Vally of the 4 Winds. It starts out with them exploring, then him finding out that he actually has relatives in the valley, then finds out that they own the biggest brewery in all of Pandaria.. (although it produces generic beer). When he tries to contact his family inside, he is kicked out. He breaks in, only to find out the brewery has been taken over by ale-mentals and monkeys because his uncle has become distracted trying to make the ultimate beer.
It is a little different than the other dungeons because it doesn´t deal with the overall Sha/Mogu/Mantid issue.. it is just a chen stormstout thing.

Anything related to beer is bound to be stupid.
I hated the Dreadwastes "Sapmaster" quest-chain for the same reason. Why the hell do I have to help them make beer, when the Klaxxi told me to make them leave? Why not just let me kick them out of there?
Annoying.
Edit: Spellings, which, apparently, need full messages to correct.

I love those pandaren guys at the first mob after Hoptallus. When we start attacking it, he shouts: "Hey what are you doing? Those are OUR flying... beer monsters!" I crack up every time. The delivery is gold.
