I wasn't trying to bait you. I wasn't trying to bait anyone. I took the post down. If anyone even hints that they don't like something I post, I'm getting rid of it.

I still don't believe this is the right way to go about things, but I can't say I blame you given some of the things that've happened in the past.

Once December 21 reaches here, me, and my cousins have planned on getting on the rooftop of my grandma's house (which is the tallest house on her neighborhood) and do our best Mushu impression by yelling
this
at the top of our lungs.
Those among us that have facebook or other social media accounts (tweeter, tumblr, ect) will also be posting that vid on their frontpage.
Nothing like rubbing it in the face of those who still insist it will happen.
I did found funny many of the comments in that yahoo link you posted, like that guy who said "I wasn't worried about it, until the government assured me it wont happen"

Only 13-12 days left... So little time to get in shape before the Apocolypse... Dang, I need to get right on that or I'll be zombie chow in mere SECONDS!

I was surprised that it took 4 days for, what was really a pretty obvious, sarcastic, joke to result in the obligatory bash on religion.

What can you do about it though? There comes a point where a it's just not worth the discussion anymore, because of the hassle involved.

Exactly why I didn't even bother to reply to it.
Don't waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don't throw your pearls to pigs!
If there was ever a verse that described how I felt about so many of the discussions here, it would be that one.

I see four posts responding to the topic legitimately, one post having a bash on religion, and four posts having a bash on the post having a bash on religion. It's almost like you guys were looking forward to this happening.
The best way to keep a thread on topic is to, well, stay on topic.

I see a sarcastic attempt a little humor, 3 people who "got the joke" and played along, one slightly more serious, but still on topic reply, one deleted post, one bash on religion in general, and 3 posts that acknowledged the religion bashing, but really didn't respond to it directly at all.
And then there is the moderator's (
assuming that you are moderating, and not just commenting...it's hard to tell
) post that overlooks the obvious derail by someone bashing religion, and seems to imply that we were somehow at fault for predicting that someone would derail the topic in that manner.

The bash on religion, while not in line with the humour, is on-topic in relation to the end of the world hypothesis. I'm saying that if you don't like the direction he's taken, then follow your initial advice to yourself and don't reply.
Now, on topic: a message from our own government down under:

In related news, I just watched The Mist. Probably the best ending I've ever seen in a horror film. I laughed for about 5 minutes after I saw it, and in multiple points throughout.

I wanted to have an end of the world party, but it's three days before one heavy drinking friend's 24th and my other heavy drinking friend is attending the end of the world party of someone I don't know.
*sigh*
I suppose I'll be at home with a cup of tea.
