As for dps specs- If you plan on being a dps main in a raiding guild it is best to know both specs. Depending on the fight/patch/gear level one may be better than the other. In regards to death pact, the options there are all heals in one way or another. Talents in MoP differ in regard to the fight. On fights where you might need a big instant heal, death pact is great. Death pact no longer kills your ghoul, it only takes away 50% of its health for a substantial heal. The other options in that tier are conversion which is a sort of enraged regen type thing, except instead of turning rage to health its RP to health. Then there is death siphon which can use runes to heal. Its just situational.
Glyphs are different from what they used to be. Minor glyphs are now more vanity things, it doesn't honestly matter what you pick there. As for majors they are similar to talents in that some are better in certain instances. I really like the AMS glyph in nearly any situation for any spec tbh, but all glyphs are worth looking into. Hope this helps a bit for what you are looking for, my dk is no longer my main, though I still play him quite a bit, and the other tank in our raid group is a dk and we have a couple dps dks.

Try
http://www.icy-veins.com/classes-wow
.
They are usually quite accurate on specs/rotations as opposed to the other sites out there.
Another good resource, especially since you will probably be new to reforging is
http://www.askmrrobot.com/
.
Those should set you on your way to enjoy dusting your DK! Also, play which ever DPS Spec you like (there is only one tank spec so I can't say the same for it) as they both sim very closely to the other with the rankings being Frost DW, Frost 2H, Unholy.

Hello, as I am finding myself in a similar situation, although I have only been away for a year, I would like to try and help you on your rotation queries and whatnot. Basically, correct me if I'm wrong, in WotLK there were several set-in-stone rotations, and coockie cutter builds that basically everyone was using, reducing human error to the minimum. That has changed since then. You now have a priority order. Noxxic, Icy Veins and Elitist Jerks are simply giving you what spells you should prioritise at what situations.
I suggest give them a good read again and spend some time on the target dummy trying to get into that midset. Soon you will find that you are getting better at it and the dead times between rune CD are going to get fewer and smaller.
Also, in order for us to help you a bit more on your DPS could you please provide an armory link? Because the numbers you said are a bit low, and I am sure we can help you to further increase your DPS.

Holy $%^& you are from Dragonblight too. Awesome. Well, by checking your armory I see that your shoulders, chest and wrist have tanking stats on, so they are not really helping your cause.
Also, use your runeforge for your weapon, believe me it is important for your DPS, and it's a free enchant so why not do it even if you are going to change the weapon. Use Rune of the fallen Crusader.
Now as stats go, your priority should be to be hit and exp capped and then for 2H go for haste over crit over mastery
and for DW go for mastery over haste over crit.
I am from Dragonblight too and my char's name is Noldorn, if you want any advice you can add me as a friend and I will try and help you. I could even monitor your DPS on target dummies and check recount on what abilities you use etc.
