Hey people,
I haven't played WoW in maybe a few months. But havent played rogue since Pre-TBC.
Im curious about starting one back up. How are they in PvP in MoP? Now that its out, and I noticed a few lvl 90s. Maybe I can get some input from or any rogues 80+. Not too concerned with PvE.
In terms of not getting destroyed by casters? Priests always ran circles around me and mages kept me frozen. My DPS wasnt top notch. My CDs only did so much, and if I didnt kill them by then, it was lights out, lol.
TL;DR.
How are rogues in PvP now that MoP is out? 80+ PvP, are there any classes that you still have an issue with?

I appreciate your input =), but youre saying theres no new spells/abilities that would benefit me and allow me to get closer to kiters/rooters better? lol
I didnt say I ALWAYS died, I just said I had a hard time catching them. If I didnt burn everything I had in every fight, it was gg.

Rogues in PvP are lacking. Hopefully by the time you level your rogue to 90 Blizzard will have either:
Redesigned multiple tiers on our talent tree. Its current state is woefully depressing. No fun new abilities.
Reduced the cooldown on many of our survival abilities. Almost all of our abilities had cooldowns increased by a full minute once 5.0 launched.
Somehow buff damage in PvP to make us competitive against other classes.

Thank you Mr. Slick. That sounds depressing, lol.
I was thinking of using a Scroll of Ress. on my other acct, and go straight to 80. So 90 is a matter of a week give or take my schedule.
I was debating between rogue and warrior =/....or both!
P.S.
how do I up vote comments? I dont see a 'thumbs up' thing or anything. Long time lurker. First time poster.

When they redesigned the talent trees we lost a lot of the default Sub talents we all took that reduced the CD of Evasion, Vanish, CoS, etc. Blizz says they are aware of the problem and "look to fix it" but I wouldn't hold your breath.

My first WoW character was a NE Warrior in Cataclysm! Created a NE Rogue for MoP and I must say that at this point, my 80 lvl NE Warrior wouldn't stand a chance against my 65 lvl NE Rogue. With the debuffs of Stealth, Stun, Garrote, Cheap Shot, Envenom and the power of poisoned daggers, this Rogue is a total delight to send into any environment any Q giver can come up with. Specially with the "Vanish" debuff, if you have the unfortunate timing of getting yourself in deep doo and need to feed and get your health back. Have been in many PvP battles with the warrior and am slammed more than I win. This Rogue doesn't get slammed and more importantly gets the much wanted and desired battle achieves and honor points one heck of a lot more (and faster) than my warrior ever could. My personal favorite is the "Eye of the Storm". Seems the darkened venue is perfect for the Rogue. The questing is very enjoyable when the admitted fear and anxiety is almost nil, thanks to the Rogue's massive and fast DPS. So, if you are wondering what class can REALLY dish out the damage, escape when it gets dicey and self heal in combat, go no further. Peace!
We talking 90, not in the "below 100k hp" where you can 1 shot most players with ambush. and 1-2 follow up attack to bring them down to execute zone or dead...

Lol, PvP with a rogue..
Killing spree in Temple and just nuke a single target with an orb = 100% kill

Posting here after a very long time. Still keeping up-to-date my guide though.
The problem is not MoP. The problem is that while other class had bad models/designs that required solutions that lead to a more modern and fun experience, rogues started with an incredible polished model, which lead to stale mechanics as for now.
It's not about being OP in PvP or the most played class.
It's just 8 years that we are spamming SS, keeping up snd and rupture. It's a lot of time that as soon there's a cleave we must spec combat and blade flurry all the way.
It's 8 years that we are looking at our autoattacks and poisons being our main source of damage and SnD is so powerful that it's basically mandatory.
Our class simply needs a redesign. On the scale of the warlocks one.
Peace :3
