"Then we will cut you open and insert a new heart," one of the breakers deadpanned back.
"There is no need for such nonsense. Miss, we kindly ask you to proceed with us - do not worry about the field, long as you do not touch it it shall not harm you, for it shall move along with you," another quickly stated.
Aewen rubbed his eyes tiredly. This felt like hearing someone talk to themselves.

Dusk

Dusk lazily poked a tail through the field. It smoked and crackled, but nonetheless staid put even in the anti-magic. "How about you boys just go run and play."

"We are authorized to use force if needed, miss. Please, reconsider and follow," a breaker spoke evenly, while the remaining seven readied their weapons and locked their shields. The field sizzled and shrunk a couple of inches, becoming a little more dense.

Silvermoon
"Do you see all this?" Dusk asked, indicating at the building around them, "I did this. Myself. And I was playing nice. I'm going to leave now, and there's nothing you can do about it. If you decide to !@#$ with me, a lot worse is going to happen."
She folded her arms underneath her and rested her chin in her claws, "And it won't bother me one bit."

"Her you go." Gibben said as he placed a small chest on the counter. Calin opened it up and started to look threw the herbs there. "That will be 30 silver." Gibben added.
"What! Last time it was 20." She said looking from the chest to the goblin.
"Hey these are tough times and these aren't easy to come by." Gibben said. "But you're free to find someone else to get your herbs." He said closing the chest.
"No wait." She said reaching into her pocket and placed the silver on the counter. "If these aren't good I'll be back for your soul." She said taking back the chest and handed it to Vanlin who vanished from sight.
"Pleasure doing business with you." The goblin waved as Calin turned and walked off.
"More like robbery." She grumbled as she stepped back into the valley and walked back to main street.

"Finally." The warlock sighed; standing up as the Tram arrived at the station. She stepped forward, closing her eyes for a moment and concentrating. As she stepped onto the tram, her entire demenor became much less imposing, and more what one might expect from the girl, if they knew her.
Balah sighed, sitting down and waiting for the tram to leave.

Character
: Kai'ren Flamestrider, Evandragos, Vrell Haudin, Hazel, Joanne Chevalier, Howlfang
Location
: Gilneas City
Kai'ren kept a steady watch on the worgen hiding on the other side of the cabinet. After a few moments the beast lurched forward, throwing the piece of furniture off to the side and lunging for the half-dragon. The cabinet hit the ground, shattering the flowerpots within and sending pieces of pottery, clumps of soil, and mangled plants all over the floor among the seed packets already there. Kai, unfortunately, had no time to shoot as he ducked out of the way of the diving worgen. The beast's massive paw caught him in the shoulder, throwing both assailant and defender into the far wall of the flowershop.
The worgen, with dark brown fur and rippling muscles, heaved breaths as he stepped carelessly over the discarded items on the ground and moved towards Alana. The sound of a few missed gunshots dragged his gaze towards Joanne, who was slipping another clip of ammo into the gun and aiming it at the creature, "All right mutt, pick on someone your own size!"
The taunt was quite effective, as the creature went pouncing towards the Commander immediately.
Vrell was busy watching the drakes fly away, her face twisted into a scowl, before she realized what Kiran had said. She looked down at the half-elf, blushing fiercely in the awkward situation and scrambling off of him, "Y-yeah, sorry!" she muttered in embarrassment, looking back up at the sky at the escaping trio.
Hazel lowered her head in frustration, "Well that was enlightening," she said evenly, her statement quite obviously a massive understatement for how she was feeling.
Howlfang mostly ignored the doctor, "I'll have you know I am in fact wearing pants," the worgen stated.
He was, indeed, wearing pants. Torn pants that were more like shorts, yes, but pants nonetheless.
"Now from one, former at least, intellectual to the next, I will impart the fact that I do not care about your lectures, and will bid you a sound departure into the next life," Howlfang snarled, bemusedly, before leaping away from his standpoint and clutching the broken window of the building he had formerly been perched upon, before scaling up towards the roof.
Looking between each other, Darkclaw and Nightpelt nodded, before following their Alpha upwards.
Character
: Naia Dawnchaser
Location

"That would have been me," Naia raised her hand slightly, waving at Thrag. It wasn't so much that she
wanted
a giant orc trying to kill her too, but by the looks of things Johann wasn't paying much attention to anything except Carver, and she didn't want him getting ripped to pieces by the orc while he wasn't watching.
She backed up to give her more space between the two assailants, keeping the voidwalker between herself and the would-be assassins. Unfortunately, she one of the walls not a few paces backwards, and groaned. This wouldn't end well unless she thought of something fast.
Character
: Victoria Hawthorne
Location
: Thousand Needles
"Ferin has a point," Victoria mentioned. "If the Reliquary, and for all intents and purposes they aren't a nefarious organization, is willing to stoop this low to get this thing, who's to say the Explorer's League wouldn't either? Especially since they had diggers at the site too."
Character
: Selindera Sunhawk, Marcin Sunhawk, Dr. Pyrus Everwind
Location
: Hellfire Peninsula
"Excellent," the doctor replied.
Almost a half an hour later, the four sin'dorei found themselves on a helicopter landing pad waiting for the arrival of a trained pilot. The vehicle seemed to have been modified from its Azerothian counterparts, additions and subtractions that Marcin noted were to most likely help it fly in the different atmosphere of Outland. A few minutes later, a human man all but hidden under a thick flight suit slipped into the pilot's seat and motioned for the others to get in.
Pyrus took the co-pilot's chair, while the Sunhawk siblings climbed up into the back of the helicopter, where four lonely and cramped seats sat. Marcin made sure every strap and belt was properly secured. Just in case.
Character
: Li Shan
Location
: Stormwind City
"Because he's a meanie-face who doesn't know how to be nice to people who are just exploring?" Li Shan replied, trying her hardest not to be sharp back, and somewhat failing by the way her eye twitched in concentration.
Character
: Varima Jonespyre
Location
: Tanaris
Varima shuddered at the sight of the corpse left on the floor. Her and Azuretalon pushed away from the wall and followed after Serenade, Specter, and Vincent. After the Kaldorei and her hippogryph cleared the room, the goblin bruisers returned to the sight that had been left for them.
Later, the innkeeper would return to check on the prisoner to find the grizzly husk and two fainted goblins in heavy armor.
Character
: Tristan Lionel, Tallonvar Rennings, Saelyn Nighthawk
Location
: Stonetalon Mountains
"Yeah," Tristan muttered wearily in reply, following Duskhide and Alnerigo. Saelyn pawed beside Tristan, close as she dared to the arcanist, and didn't try to take the lead after what had just occurred. Though subtle about it, the red-headed mage also kept an eye on the druid, just to make sure she wouldn't run off again--especially by no will of her own.
Tallonvar hung at the back, keeping a close watch on their rear.
Character
: The Mortality of the Phoenix
Location
: Wetlands
Isilver nearly doubled over on the ground in pain. Instead, she choked it down and got a firm stance on her hooves, grimacing in an attempted smile, "Can't fault me for trying?" she croaked, teeth grit because of the sharp kick.
She didn't recover completely from the pain, but didn't waste time dwelling on it as she went for a few quick sword swipes at the Thane and a blast of light towards one of the shambled joints in his armor.
Character
: Cyilar Dawn
Location
: Darnassus
"Oh yes! I can do that, certainly, it would be my pleasure!" Cyilar was momentarily distracted from Dorithel's explanation when Vargariel handed the book back. She looked it over, smiling broadly. "Ah yes, I'm glad it could help. It is certainly just a hobby, one of many, but it's always fun to write about them in spare time. Not to mention that it passes the time as well. Or wouldn't that be the same thing? Hum."
She blinked for a few seconds, before bobbing her head, "What were we talking abou--oh! I remember, the portal, Feralas, yes, yes, certainly. Not here though, opening portals in libraries is dangerous. But out there, yes. Does Eldre'Thalas sound okay? I'm quite familiar with the leylines there, so it shouldn't be too difficult."
Character
: Romuel Starfrost, Altari Wrenwell
Location
: Eldre'Thalas
Time was starting to tick away, and as a result the streetlamps starting flickering on with their arcane luminescence. Romuel and Altari had stepped away from the fountain to go walking through the park of exotic flowers and local sculptures from the art university. Altari was in the process of mocking some of the abstract designs when both her's and Romuel's cellphone began vibrating wildly.
They pulled out the devices and checked them over. Romuel pursed his lips, "Already have to go back, hasn't even been a couple of hours."
"Yay, excitement!" Altari said, barely giving Romuel time to put his phone away as she grabbed the kaldorei's forearm and pulled him towards the park exit.

Unsurprisingly, Turin fastened all the belts of his seat as well. Bravery was one thing, stupidity another. The boring part done, the young knight took off his plumed helm and stared out of the window.
Character
: Vincent Gaillard
Location

"Next is mine, Serenade," Vincent reminded the dwarf softly as they proceeded out of the inn.
Character
: Thane Sigmund Freyrson
Location
: Wetlands
Moving with inhumane speed, the Thane successfully parried the sword strikes. There was little he could do against the blast of light, and he let out a sharp cry of pain when the holy energy took one step further to dismantling his armor and scorching his pale flesh.
The paladin was strong-willed, that he knew. But, being an experienced fighter, Sigmund could also see she had not yet recovered from the pain. This was his chance, and though by taking it he discarded the enchantment that kept the Skullcrown firmly rooted on his head, as well as forsaking some of the empowerment it granted, it looked like he still could at least take her with him before dying to her comrades' blades.
"Look into the eyes of death, paladin, and despair!" he commanded, his voice now magically enhanced and mesmerizing, and the eye sockets of the Skullcrown lit up with unnatural light. If Isilver were to stare into them for too long, she would find herself stuck in torpor.
Character
: Duskhide
Location

Their path forked in two some several dozen feet later, one branch a steep, windy descent, another an equally bending ascent.

Dr.Prometheus Sr., Pyre, D79
Location:
Gilneas
"Well then," the doctor said as the worgen departed, pulling his arm with the gauntlet on it back, "I suppose this will forever be a mystery to you." With that, he slammed his gauntlet on an angle into its ruined brother upon the ground. The water all along the street before the doctor jumped as if afright as a terrific tremor shook the cobbled stones, manholes here and there bursting up with a roar of water. With a resounding boom the street fell inward into a large curve. All along the road, the buildings standing sentinel listed forward to lean crazily, as if seeking to form an arch with their counterparts on the other side, though neither side succeed in either reaching far enough to do so, or even to fully collapse. A testament to Gilnean architecture.
And none likely would have fallen, had not a rocket screamed from one of the windows behind the doctor the moment the street shuddered, crashing into the front of the listing building Howlfang climbed upon. Overbalanced due to the large hole now in it, the structure began to fall forward and towards the street.
Character:
Johann Augustus, Accru'al
Location:
Aurius Forest (formerly Plaguewood)
" 'ere then. That means we're gonna 'ave ta 'ave us a bit of a scrap!' the orc roared, raising a fist still hidden in a sleeve high above his head and bringing it down. The blow was blocked by the voidwalker, which shuddered beneath the strength in the blow, a loud bang sounding as the metal of its bracelets struck something of similar make inside the towering figures encompassing sleeve.
Richard took the opportunity to dart around the demon, spotting Naia and taking a quick step and a slash toward her.
Johann threw his arms forward, the shadow bolt racing across the distance between him and Carver. The assassin tried to side step the attack, but caught the corner on his arm sending him spinning about.

Character

Location

Serenade nodded his agreement, but said nothing, as his cellphone was pressed against his ear. "Yes?" he asked into the phone. "Mhmm, yes I did. Can you track the last transaction on the number I gave you earlier?"
He paused and listened intently. "Thousand Needles? Okay, thank you very much!"
He turned off the phone and placed it back into his pocket. "Zach's card was just used at a casino in Thousand Needles. He was with her last we met, and I see no reason why they should have separated by now."
Character
: Mr. January
Location

"Likewise, it is a rather pleasant change to be working with those who know how to plan their futures," January said, raising his glass to Walter and taking a sip.
Character
: Mr. November
Location
: Gilneas
November "hrmm'ed" to himself as the street began to collapse. "Now that won't do at all." He lifted a tube out of the pack next to him, and snapped it into the wooden stock that also came out of the bag. Another tube came out, which he attached to the front of the barrel. He then lifted a large, heavily runed cartridge out of the bag and slipped it into the barrel, snapping the bolt back into place and drawing the firing pin back.
He lifted the rifle, settling it over the doctor's heart, and pulled the trigger.

Whilst the good doctor was sipping from his glass, a number of his assistants - all wearing scrubs and lab coats, and all carrying a varying number of tools - scurried out, surrounding the AI.
"Now, magical tracking of any sort is, fortunately, excluded already, so now all that is left before we can proceed is making sure technological means of locating it are also disabled," he told January, watching the younger men very gently and slowly begin their external scan of the device.
"This place is warded from all known devices, of course - or, rather, it has been when it was last updated. Who's to say the progress has been standing still since then? Better safe than sorry," Walter remarked.

Sure enough, the attempts of the breakers' higher-ups to contact Star-Pelt turned out to be contacting someone who could contact someone who could, theoretically, contact him - after having been put on hold for the next century.
However, several blocks away, a very special Blood Lord - who had thus far been very curious about a building up and disappearing in his city - was already dialing a very special number.

Capitol City, Gilneas
"Well...." Koran said, shaking his head as he watched the trio fly off into the clouds. "That was a fat lot of nothing." He grumbled, sitting down on a piece of the ruined carriage as he looked over at Hazel, unsure of what to do.
"Thanks." Kiran said, blushing a little himself. He finally didn't feel as drained as he had after letting loose that breath attack on Destro, but was still a little shaky. He carefully got to his feet, weaving a little.
"I think we should go to the Palace." Lobo said, looking at the group; the wounded Karkov and the half-lings. "We should probably let them know what has happened." He said, rubbing his hands along his face.

Hazel looked up, "Let's go. There's no point standing around here now that they're already gone. I suspect they finished what they came here to do, so checking the murder scene is pointless unless you want to see the result."
Vrell might have said something witty, or anything at all, but words weren't coming to her. She wrung her hands together nervously and checked her hourglass again, but the thing still would not budge.
Howlfang may have been shocked, but it was nearly impossible tell in the shower of glass and scraps of metal that came at his face. The worgen realized the building was toppling over, so did the rest of the pack that was on the building. Those that were on leaning structures also seemed to be surprised, though those worgen were less concerned with Howlfang's plight and more at the fact the barrels they had been setting up were now sliding straight out of their grasps.
Nightpelt, clinging to a section of the building that was not trying to fall straight over into the midst of the street, gasped, "Is this going to--"
In an instant, Darkclaw had cut him off, "Yes. RUN!"
The two worgen abandoned their hold on the structure. Thankfully, a natural instinct for climbing also contributed to a natural instinct for falling, and helped to reduce the possible damage the two would have taken. Howlfang, unfortunately, was not quite as lucky as his fellows. The Alpha had dropped from the rapidly falling section of the toppling building at the last second, but the velocity had still given him a powerful impact. The debris and dust raised by the crash hid the worgen's landing.
Across the street on leaning buildings, worgen were taking a last minute moment to direct the falling barrels, with little success, before they fled the streets with uncharacteristic cowardice from the chaos. The true reason for their flight was soon revealed, however. The barrels came crashing down upon the street from where they toppled off the bent roofs, glinting dangerously as they struck across all sections of the street with deadly malice and no discrimination.
On impact, they shattered in green flashes, breaking their shells with seeming ease and allowing their contents to pour fourth: a deadly concoction the citizens of Gilneas still had nightmares about. The green smog, the infamous Blight of the Forsaken, poured into buildings, through windows, seeped along the street. Many of the fleeing worgen weren't lucky enough to escape its grasp. They doubled over, wretching painfully as the life slipped from their body with every stomachful of vomit.
The chaos was over in less then a few minutes, but the results were devastating. The street was covered in blight up to the radio tower, who's base was surrounded by the vile poison.
Character
: Naia Dawnchaser
Location
: Eastern Plaguelands
"Oh no you don't!" Naia exclaimed, throwing her hands out in front of her. It would have been a horribly meager defense if the action wouldn't have prompted a sudden flurry of arcane energies to coalesce into a barrier in front of her. Unfortunately, the quick nature of the shield rendered it nearly useless after the first strike, so she dispersed it and sent the superfluous energy hurling at Richard's face.
Character
: Victoria Hawthorne
Location

Victoria shook her head, "Ourselves, pretty much. I want to figure out how they know so much about the artifact though if they know its worth something. Did you see anything?" she looked at Zachary.
Character
: Selindera Sunhawk, Marcin Sunhawk, Dr. Pyrus Everwind
Location

Selindera did up one of the seatbelts, but didn't bother with all of them, before leaning back as much as the cramped sitting space allowed. Marcin passed her a set of earphones, which she looked at oddly.
"They'll keep you from hastening deafness because of the engines. I don't think this is going to be a quick ten minute jaunt," the sin'dorei explained.
She pursed her lips and sighed, shrugging before slipping them on.

"Or the better we all go insane!" Tallonvar added. "One or the other!"
Tristan shot him a dirty look and looked down at Saelyn, the feline was watching his boots and matching his pace to avoid having to look around at the writhing walls and chambers, but she did add her two cents, "The core chamber of the Barrow Dens shouldn't be too far from here," she mumbled. "The heart of the problem should be there, if I can guess."

"Can we help now?" Manx asked.
Tuon watched the scene dumbfoundedly, "Yes," she said, her voice sounding distant, "and hurry."
