Should I try for the next Haste plateau?

Here is my armory:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/silver-hand/Karkow/advanced
Still need a fw more upgrades (mainly the bird shoulders ).
There is no guaranty that I will have a Shaman or Shadow priest in the group for the haste buff - however there is usually a warlock running. Currently I am sitting just above the second plateau at 2031. I have been reading of the next level which will benefit me if there is no Shaman, Shadow priest or Warlock. It has a number of 2750 or so? Is it even worth to try for this at this stage or should I wait until I get a few more upgrades?
Thanks for any additional advice.

i am not really a resto druid, but to get another 720 haste i feel would be very difficult for you, possibly reforging out of other important stats. There aren't too many upgrades you have left before going to heroic DS. So if you are in a guild about to do Heroic DS, then i would say get a few more upgrades and sure try for it.
Doing a little math, reforging everything you can to haste you will only get about 350 or so haste, give or take maybe 50-100 (rounded a lot of the math). either way you won't get anywhere near the 720 you need without replacing some pieces for one with haste. I dont know of which ones would be best, except your Foul Gift of the Demon Lord trinket. Unfortunately (i may be wrong) the use buff isn't too great. I believe that their are better trinkets, such as after a quick check
Seal of the Seven Signs
which is from raid finder that you can try and get. It has a haste equip so you get the haste, but it is not quite the same, there is other trinkets however that just do a straight heal over the haste boost.
Once again i say i am not a resto, just looking at your gear + items and have no clue what the benefit from going for that haste cap would do and if it is worth it. An actual resto may be able to give you a better idea/ say that everything i said was completely wrong and that you shouldnt listen to me :p so in other words don't take my word as god. :D though i wish was a god.....

Thanks for the great information. Yeah - I was also looking at regemming and reforging and my stats I need would suffer big time.
Dragon - your advice as spot on even though you are not a resto druid.
Foley - completely forgot I could enchant my own rings. So probably best to reforge any additional haste (as long as I keep my 2005) into mastery then?
Is there a 2 handed weapon that is best in slot for Resto Druids?
Thanks again

So on another topic anyone want to help me understand how exactly haste works for any class really.
As far as i understand,
meelee/hunters get a bonus to white attack speed
energy using classes, such as ferals or rogues get very slight faster energy regen. (DKs get faster runes)
Casters get faster casts. Does this work saying, i have 20% haste therefore the cast is 20% shorter? and if so what happens when someone has over 100% haste, because they aren't instant cast?
Now for healers haste will increase the number of healing procs on HoTs. So if you have say rejuv, it heals like 1k every 3 seconds for 12 seconds, 4 procs of 1k, if i got enough haste to make that 5 procs, it would still do 1k just 5 times instead of 4?
Some dps dots, do these get buffed in the same way as HoTs or similarly, completely different, how?

Haste works differently than you'd expect at first glance. As you said, if it worked as 20% haste = 20% shorter cast time, then 100% haste = instant casts. However, not all spells have the same cast time, and if this is how haste worked, it would be the most important stat by a mile (instant healing touch?).
However, haste works differently. 20% haste means that you can cast 20% more spells in the same amount of time that you would with 0% haste. i.e. You will be able to cast 6 Regrowths in the time it would take to cast 5 (again, at 20% haste).

ok that makes a lot of sense. so 100% equals half cast time, 200%(if possible with super buffs and stacking) would be 33% cast time then right? 3 times the spells.
so was i right about dots, it just adds that percentage of dots in the counter and so every so often % you ticks hit faster and eventually get you extra ticks?

Not worth hitting it, you will waste too many stats. And also the cap is 2005, just get that and go all mastery.
