I was not a huge fan of Dragon Age DLC. But then again, I did not get any DA2 DLC's.
I found all ME2 DLC's pretty good. The alterate clothing packs were kinda meh, but whatever, there are people who are willing to pay for vanity (look who is talking, as if I didn't own a ton of skins in League of Legends). The weapon packs offered weapons that had interesting twists to them, my most favorite has to be the Geth shotgun which has just awesome mechanics. There was the Kestrel armor which is just meh, overwhelmingly OP and impossible to upgrade in the entire game, but ME2 isn't too much about armor upgrades so whatev's.
All the mission packs were pretty awesome. Overlord had a touching ending, a good matrix-like sequence, and damn me, I actually liked the platforming with the Hammerhead. Truth is, I love Hammerhead to bits. Oh and the
scenery
. The interior of the geth ship, the satellite, the mountains. It was just grand.
Lair of the Shadow Broker obviously is pretty much the best. Whether it is for the Liara moments, or for, as Rank already mentioned, the moment where Shepard takes down the mask and actually shows he has
feelings
. Oh and I loved the boner moment in the romance scene. :P Boss fights were great as well.
I... feel like the only guy who also liked Arrival. I think it was awesome. :-/ The solo infiltration of the prison, the fight in the relic room, the destruction of a whole system? The moment where you fought on a long platform on an asteroid and had the Mass Relay in front of you, ominously getting larger? Or the moment when Admiral Hackett was on Normandy at the end. Epic sauce everywhere.
If I were to say which companies DLC's are the best IMO, I would point at Obsidian's DLC's for Fallout New Vegas first (seriously, there can be no quarrels about that), and to Mass Effect 2 as second definitely.
edit: And I never tried the option to wound the hostage. :O Could have been badass.

Tweet from one of the Dev's about the supposed ending leak.
Spoiler free, and pretty indicative of how accurate all the info floating around about the endings probably is.
@Thror- I liked Arrival- it was fine. I thought the sneaking in mechanic was refreshing. But, story wise, it was following in the footsteps of Shadow Broker and Overlord, and I didn't think it was as good. Kasumi's mission was really good, too. Zaheed was ok- the mission was on par with Arrival, but the dialog in his room, especially about "Jessie", was freaking priceless.

Heh, the only really memorable moments for me from the Zaeed and Kasumi DLC's were the final fights... against the helicopter in Kasumi and in the huge room with lots of spawning blue suns and an YMIR mech at the end. I had to replay those a gazillion times with my Vanguard, but it felt so awesome once I finally got the dance of death for that particular room nailed down.
Oh my god I am so bloody looking forward to Vanguard gameplay in ME3. Btw I preordered the CE.

I pre-ordered the CE too. I always play as a soldier, and in ME2 I tacked on the Reave ability for the best of both worlds. I mostly did it because I like the assault rifle. Since we (I believe) can customize loadout for other classes, I might be open to playing a class with more biotics on some playthroughs.

Reave was my bonus ability of choice for my Vanguard as well. It was the best thing I could use against the enemies that are on spots I can not charge to, and as a biotic ability, it was buffed by my Vanguard passive bonuses ofc. I especially liked how it had no travel time, compared to Warp. I did find the ability to arch my Warp blasts pretty interesting at some spots (when I played as Adept), but more often than that I prefer the instant effect of Reave.

I agree, I never really got any of the Dragon Age DLCs (except Witch hunt for the first one) and don't really think I missed much.

they kinda went overboard with the clothe and weapon and armor packs. If I'm not mistaken, buying every single one of those can cost twice as much as the game itself does.
I'd rather do what I do with Skyrim: Download user-made clothes and weapons. At least those are FREE.
I did got some of those weapon DLCs (though since my copy of ME2 is cracked, the DLCs had to be cracked too :S bioware doesn't accepts bolivares U_U no international store does) and I gotta say the Eviscerator shotgun is the best thing ever.

Yep, I loved overlord, and ABSOLUTELY ADORED Lair of the Shadow Broker. I don't really "hate" arrival, I just think it was pretty "meh" compared to its predecesors. After all, Overlord treated us to wide-open sandbox gameplay on a drop-dead GORGEOUS planet, on what has to be the COOLEST TANK EVER. As well as facing a very tragic enemy. That final cutscene (and that music T_T) really made me choke up inside.
Arrival on the other hand, had very little interaction from shepard to someone else (mainly because you spend 80% of that DLC alone, and the 20% you are with someone else, she's completely quiet)
While I loved giving harbinger the finger (again) it felt waaaay more smaller than the previous 2. Still, it was an important lore moment, so it has its merits.
If I were to say which companies DLC's are the best IMO, I would point at Obsidian's DLC's for Fallout New Vegas first (seriously, there can be no quarrels about that), and to Mass Effect 2 as second definitely.
Yep, in fact, calling the New Vegas DLCs "DLCs" seems almost like an insult. Those are damn near expansion packs, all of them.
edit: And I never tried the option to wound the hostage. :O Could have been badass.
well, it was kinda badass, but a bit too extreme. I would had taken another option if it was avaliable, but the other ones weren't so pretty. (Asides from wounding the hostage and Tela, the other option was to drop my ammo, and I'm not so dumb as to do that, and use the renegade persuade, which consists of nothing but racial slurs against asari WITH LIARA STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO ME. No thanks)
Basically it goes like this:
Tela: I am a spectre shepard, so you better believe I'll do WHATEVER IT TAKES to complete my mission.
Shepard: That may be true, but you keep forgeting one small detail.........
Tela: and what is that?
Shepard: I'm a spectre too......... (*BLAM*)
the hostage falls down wounded but otherwise alive, and tela recoils back from the shoulder wound allowing liara to tackle her out the window. (there's a lot of window-crashing on this DLC now that I think of it)
Tweet from one of the Dev's about the supposed ending leak.

Like I said, this is not the first time it has happened, nor will it be the last. Rumors and baseless speculation regarding Dragon Age 2, and Mass Effect 2 also ran WILDLY on the weeks and days before their releases, and NONE of those rumors proved to be true.
Heh, the only really memorable moments for me from the Zaeed and Kasumi DLC's were the final fights... against the helicopter in Kasumi and in the huge room with lots of spawning blue suns and an YMIR mech at the end. as far as the companion DLCs.
Zaheed's was pretty "meh", I mean I like the character but he's nothing special, and is vastly overshadowed by the rest of the crew. He's one that I could had skipped and not terribly missed. His loyalty mission wasn't that particularly awesome to me either.
Kasumi on the other hand was a WHOOOOOLE 'NOTHER THING.
Loved her loyalty mission, specially the black dress she gives a fem!shep (Too bad that the robotic walking animation TOTTALY RUINED IT) I liked the small puzzle-section on that mansion, and the DNA hunt on Hoch's room was quite funny ("AHA!" "What' found a DNA sample?" "No, A credit chit >=D" "you gain 1 credit coin")
Plus I loved kasumi's perky quirky nature, which was a high contrast to the gloomy depressive mood the rest of the crew had. She's even a shipper on deck xD shipping everyone into couples, and her character design looks amazing. Its a shame she only gets a cameo on ME3 =(
Oh my god I am so bloody looking forward to Vanguard gameplay in ME3.
Me too buddy, me too. I'm even tempted to (For the first time) play the game on a difficulty below normal, simply because I can then ignore the difficulty and just have fun being "Biotic Hulk". Already did it on the demo and it was AWESOME. (Charge, Nova, Megaton Punch, and watch the world collapse against your unrestrained biotic fury)
I'm seriously considering picking up a legit Deluxe edition of this game. I can't really afford it, specially with the big incoming hit my wallet is gonna take once that new PC gets here, (I mean, its 550.000 bolivares we're talking about here) but I'm feeling VEEEERY tempted.
I always play as a soldier, and in ME2 I tacked on the Reave ability for the best of both worlds. I mostly did it because I like the assault rifle.
I played soldier on ME1, and yes I loved the assault rifle, but on ME2, after I saw the glory of Biotic Charge, I just HAD to change to vanguard. I did it, and haven't looked back since. Best class ever. And they got WAY BETTER on ME3. (Whereas the soldier's new skill is simply trow boring grenades, Vanguards got Nova, a HECK OF AN AWESOME MOVE WITH NO COOLDOWN)
And yes Reave was the best power ever, I don't think many used any other extra power. =( so sad to see reaver go away on ME3. Gonna miss it.
Since we
(I believe)
can customize loadout for other classes, I might be open to playing a class with more biotics on some playthroughs.
We CAN choose the weapons to carry into battle with all classes now. Says so on my review U_U
its still convinient to not over-do it, as the more weapons you carry (And the heavier they are) the more cooldown your powers will have.
Me, I'll stick to the basics, and carry exclusively a shotgun, for max charge spam. I've done it on the multiplayer and I'm a MACHINE.

:P well, I was at a sort of debacle.
I wanted to replay mass effect 1 and 2 to "Refresh" the story in preparation for ME3. Also to get some alternate saves since I've only had 1 shepard so far.
(Specs of that shepard: Initially soldier, changed to vanguard on ME2. Colonist/Sole Survivor Background. Full renegade bar, and about 1/3 of the total Paragon Bar. Yes I can be a mean bastard at times, that doesn't mean I'm not nice with civilians and my own crew.
Council killed (LET THE MOTHERF*bleep*KERS BURN, BURN MOTHERF*bleep*KERS BUUUURN!)
wrex recruited and saved
garrus recruited and renegade
conrad verner treated nicely up until he asked me to join the specters. At that point I shoved a gun to
his face (come on..... dont give me that look, in his own words I was "teaching him to be extreme" xD)
Liara Romanced (<3 that blue muffin =D)
Saved the rachni queen.
Completed all the cerberus-related quests, and didn't gave the info to the shadowbroker.
Ashley saved on virmire (Sorry kaidan :S the mission was more important, will miss you buddy)
Anderson apointed for the council.
completed the sidequests of wrex and tali
didn't allowed the alliance to experiment of nirhala's body.
saved everyone on Ferus, including the colonists and shiala.)
And loved this save but....
I wanted more alternative shepards to see what would happen if different choices were taken. Cool, I reinstalled ME1, started playing............ ugh and I can't stand it.
Sorry, :S the quality of ME1 is really lousy compared to ME2. Interior design is crappy and lame (Empty rooms galore with barely a sofa, almost what you can find in wow) scenarios are repetitive, textures look like crap, gameplay and combat is boring and un-engaging, there are no badass/adorable interrupts here, gun sounds are terrible, Normandy looks so small, ugh I just coudln't bear it.
So what to do? =D Went to this lovely site
http://www.masseffect2saves.com/
(Love their tag line "We play ME so you don't have to" xD)
now I've downloaded (From ME1) a nice set of shepards for future use. A fem shepard that was 100% paragon and with no romances (Wanna try out the romances on ME3, but I won't cheat on Liara with my main shep, so I'll use an alternate one that never romanced anyone on ME1 or 2) A Male Shep that romanced ash yet will cheat on her with miranda on ME2 (Can't wait to see the cat fight when that pot-lid gets open xD)
And a third female shepard that is 100% renegade to the extreme and romanced garrus. I wanna see how they work that out on ME3 (Since romance between Turians and Humans are HIGHLY incompatible due to the dextro-DNA hiccup. xD I really laughed HARD when Mordin told me "do not...... ejem, ingest")
so, uninstalling ME1, and installing ME2 now :P
(Done.....)

Might as well post my story...
ME1, the official canon because I don't have PSNetwork.
ME2: Male soldier, earthborn, war hero.
Romanced Tali, no exile and father not disgraced
Destroyed Collector base
Full paragon, about 2/7 renegade
Preserved genophage data just in case
Everyone survived Suicide Mission, including crew
Geth reprogrammed
Sidonis spared
Thresher maw killed
Jacob's father jailed
Data from planet Lorek sent to Alliance
Morinth killed
That's all I can think right now...

I've removed several posts from this thread and I'm going to add a general warning here before sending specific warnings to individuals.
Spoiling things isn't cool. We have spoiler tags for text and they can also be used for links to make it clear that there are spoilers in the linked content. Spoiling stuff for people by accident is a shame but when it is clear that spoilers are being posted with malicious intent to spoil people then that's simply unacceptable.
Circumventing the language filter and insulting other users is
absolutely unacceptable anywhere on the forum

If this thread presents any further examples of either of these types of behaviour then it will be locked without a second thought.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##Apologies are appreciated but commenting on moderation within the moderated thread can lead to further derailment and as such is firmly discouraged. It seems that ME3..
Is taking interracial to a whole new level.
I think it's interesting that this is one of the first 'bigger' games where you actually have the choice of homosexuality.
Post by
ElhonnaDS
ME 1 and ME 2 had a same sex option for women. ME3 is just the first in the series to have a same sex option for men.

Azazel
Fine. Male homosexuality then.

I don't know how many of them are options. I've seen a video for one, so I know it's confirmed. The others there's nothing but rumors about which is or is not an option for gay male shep.
Straight female shep got 2 aliens with scales and "The Priiiiiizze" for ME2, though, so I'd say that they're not getting any worse choices than we were.

LOL.
yes Garrus is a BADASS, and My favorite squadmate along with Liara and Tali. But as far as romances go with him, turians are waaaay too different from humans. And I don't mean just physically. They are biologically so different, that neither shepard nor him can kiss or have sex without killing each other (As they are a dextro-DNA based life form, humans are HIGHLY allergic to anything regarding turian DNA such as saliva, and semen, an other icky stuff. Not for nothing, the main advice Mordin gives if romancing garrus is "do not...... ejem..... ingest")
One thing I am curious about is how about for a shepard who didn't romanced Ashley/kaidan/liara on ME1, will they have the option of starting a romance with them in ME3?
I know for a fact that if you didn't romanced these 3 on ME1, on ME2 you could not start a relationship with either of them.
So now I ask myself: if you didn't started a romance with any of the ME2 options, can you start a romance with them on ME3? if you didnt' started a romance with any of the ME1 options, can you start a romance with them on ME3?
Now if only there were some attractive men in ME3. Lol. Poor gayShep only gets musclebound gorillas and aliens.
indeed :S I've seen one of the romance options for male gay shepard, and quite frankly YUCK.
They give fem!shep attractive (if a bit plain) males such as Jacob and Kaidan, and give male shep.......... well,

It was different.
Her race (Cathars) wasn't completely developed at that time, and when LucasArts found out about them wanting to introduce a lesbian romance option, they ordered bioware to back off, so they didn't finished off that storyline (indeed you can't complete that romance at all) and they didn't bothered with polishing the Cathar models.
But as you can see on SWTOR, the Cathars look MUCH better now.
Now if only there were some attractive men in ME3. Lol. Poor gayShep only gets musclebound gorillas and aliens.

I found something funny regarding that video showing the romance-cutscene of male shep and the new gay romance option.
Its full to the brim with dislikes to the point that the "Like" bar can barely be seen.
People who are trying to not look like homophobics simply chalk it off to "the dialog is absurd" "and their animations are horrible"
Yet go on and look for the video of the Female Warden from Dragon Age with Leliana.
Equally badly written cutscene, even WORST animations (not for nothing its infamously known as the "underwear dance") and yet it barely has any dislikes. Why? because this time is 2 chicks and "2 chicks is hawt"
/sighs.
Male pre-pubescent gamers are so predictable.

The romance points of her.
