I don't see WW3 any time soon. It's not
that
tense. The countries are not in a state of extreme hate towards each other like in the Cuba Crisis. Not that everything is fine, but I think it's too soon to worry.

China's too busy with it's own people to worry about the rest of the world at the moment.

Mutually Assured Destruction and the global economy will probably stave off another true World War.

Only if he's hired Kim Jong Il's old staff. This post has a very "Dear Leader" feel to it, when discussing Ron Paul and Putin.

In the 1990's the USA saved Saudi Arabia from the invasion of Iraq. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest oil producing countries in the world, and we took no oil from them after saving their ass from Saddam. In the current war in Iraq, we had total control over their country, yet another of the largest oil producing countries in the world, yet we again took no oil, and jusr recently gave them total control back of their country.
So what the hell are you smoking that makes you think we want to conquer Iran by declaring war on them to steal their precious "oil"
Guess what, we have our own oil. Some studies suggest that we could be oil independant for hundreds of years, if the environmental wacko's would get of the way.
The reason there are tensions between the US and Iran is that Iran is controlled by a psycopathic ruler that has publicly stated that he "wants to wipe Israel off the map".
Ron Paul is a racist, anti-military kook who has as much chance of becoming President as I do. Ron Paul be more likely to cause WW3 than prevent it. The only thing he would do would be to weaken our ability to actually fight back if us, or our friends were attacked. With the US in the way, Iran is very unlikely to attack Israel, knowing we would destroy them in a matter of days. Without us, they may try. But Israel is also a nuclear state, and would be forced to react with full force without the backing of the US military, ensuring a nuclear strike.

Good to meet you, Newt Gingrich. Can we get some citations on the racism please? Also, define for us your meaning of "anti-military", and provide his statements that qualify as anti-military, with context.
(Come on dude. You had to know you were gonna get called on that.)

as for WW3, I believe we are on the edge of something big and terrible, something is going to happen and it doesn't look good. America is on a war path....but remember, the Bible says this is not yet the end of things..only the begining of troubles. I don't want to sound like a bible thumping doomsayer...but you have to be releastic about the world we are currently living in and its just getting crazier and crazier, you'de have to be a fool to think everythings going to be ok.
And you know, the Christians have been on this kick for two millennia. A partial list of events that have been identified as heralds of the End Time:
Destruction of Jerusalem by Nero (year 70 AD)
Turn of the first millennium (1000)
Pan-European famine (1005-1006)
Supposed 1000th anniversary of the crucifixion of Christ (1033)
Planetary alignment (1186)
The Black Plague (1346)
Eruption of Laki volcanic system in Iceland (1783)
World War I (1914)
Great Depression (1929)
World War II (1939)
Every single armed conflict in the Middle East since the establishment of Israel (1948-)
Foundation of the modern European Union (1993)
Turn of the second millennium (2000)
September 11 terrorist attacks (2001)
Election of Barack Obama (2008)
Not to mention countless arbitrary predictions in almost every single year since the death of Christ.
We're still here. And the Christians are still saying "well we're really
really
sure about
this
time". If there is a god, he's up there laughing at how amazingly well he has trolled mankind.
I think we are going to see a Hegelian Dialectic on a worldwide scale and i think this current conflict in the Middle East will trigger it all off.
That sentence doesn't even make sense. Do you even know what Hegel was talking about or did you just string together random terms from a John Birch Society newsletter here?
If you want to start throwing psychology terms around, look up "cognitive dissonance" and correlate that with common eschatological belief of the last 300 years.

Clips taken from James Kerchick expose on the Ron Paul Newsletters, Pulblished under the names Ron Paul’s Freedom Report, Ron Paul Political Report, and The Ron Paul Survival Report. The newsletter online archives are no longer avaliable, but the author was able to locate many of them via various other means (libraries...ect). The expose article can be found
here
.
“opinion polls consistently show only about 5% of blacks have sensible political opinions,”
“if you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be,”
“the archetypical half-educated victimologist, whose race and sex protect her from criticism.” (regarding black representative Barbara Jordan )
This in reponse to the LA riots:
“Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks three days after rioting began,”
On what to expect in the 1990's:
“Racial Violence Will Fill Our Cities” because “mostly black welfare recipients will feel justified in stealing from mostly white ‘haves.’”
Look the list goes on and on. Of course, Mr. Paul claims that he had NOTHING to do with these newsletters, and the writings we not his own. There is no proof of this either way, as the newsletter contained no by-lines. But is is only logical to assume that
Ron Paul
would have something to do with the
Ron Paul’s
Freedom Report,
Ron Paul
Political Report, and The
Ron Paul
Survival Report
As for anti-war? The man has proclaimed that the Civil War was NOT necessary! Mr. Paul debated this standpoint on MSNBC in 2008, and praised a book called
The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War
, citing that it
"heroically rescues real history from the politically correct memory hole.”
Furthermore, he makes no attempt to hide himself as an anti-war candidate, and the he would dismantle the US military down to fraction of what is it today.
As for your "Hello, Newt" comment. Honestly, I am "Anybody but Obama"....but I don't know what I would do if by some miracle Mr. Paul actually won the nomination. Fiscally speaking, he has some good ideas, but that is where the good stops. His views on nearly everything else are so far out there, that I would cringe at the thought of having him in charge. I personally have not "supported" a candidate since Herman Cain was forced out. Would I vote for Newt...yes. I would also vote for Romney or Santorum(sic). I think any of them are better than 4 more years of an unbound Socialist like Obama.
Thankfully, the Ron Paul hype is just that...hype. As I said, I have a better chance at being elected President than he does. My biggest fear is that this goofball continues getting the support he has so far through the Primary process that he decides to run as a 3d party, which will do nothing but insure that Obama wins.

So you have newsletters published decades ago, which aren't necessiarly linked to Ron Paul, with NOTHING racist said nor printed in the subsequent decades. Further you changed him from "anti-military" to "anti-war". That's quite a bit of difference.
Having been in the military, I can tell you that it is bloated and needs to be dismantled down. It is cumbersome and expensive. Further, I myself am anti war.
In the end you've got a lot of hot air, heresay, and name calling. Honestly I've seen all the same stuff in the MSM and comments made on MSM websites. Bravo, sir.
