Kinda have a half question, half observation here, on the subject of trash and AoE...and such.
Both Wrath and Cata has had its moments with "interesting" trash, that quickly became not-so-interesting. ICC trash runs went from something that you actually had to work at, to just an AoE faceroll inside of the same tier. I can remember having to really pick your pulls, avoid or disable traps, and even a good number of wipes on Marrowgar trash. I can also remember just chain pulling everything to the stairs, AoE it all down.....chain to boss...AoE......loot.
The same can be said for Cata HC's which went from actually pretty dang hard, to Wrath-like....although it at least took a couple tiers of gear for them to go complete easy-mode.
But what I actually don't recall is this type of thing ever happening with Kara. Even as we progressed through BC, Kara never really became a faceroll. You never just ran it guns blazing into the dancehall before Morose. You never just "healed through" Aran's Flame Wreath. Now, granted, we ended BC as a SSC/Hyjal guild, with just a taste of BT.
So thats kinda my question for someone who had progressed farther in BC.....did Kara ever become trivial like it seems has happened with Wrath and, so far, Cata?

Wrath, imo.

The fights got 'easier'(as anything does with newer gear), but don't think it ever did; even soloing it now a days at max level you have to be careful same as always: the mechanics there will still tear you up.

I dunno. I've been duoing it with my friend (me ret and him a prot paladin) and the ONLY fight we have trouble on is the Chess Match.

Vanilla was the original game so it counts.

Yeah, as a tank class with any healing ability Kara's pretty easy to solo nowadays - save Netherspite, who I don't attempt because the mechanics of the fight make it unlikely as a solo fight.

Netherspite
can
be annoying for duoing as well if you aren't keeping track of time/who's on what beam. If you're actually paying attention, it's fairly easy.

TBC and Cata.
TBC for end game raids and Cata for bringing me back to questing and again end game.

I'm not sure I could really say which was my favorite. I played from tbc on but all of them had different pros and cons for me. I haven't really gotten into Cata as much as the last two. I think I liked the overall content better in tbc but think there were alot of good changes made in wrath that helped gameplay alot. Rotations for alot of specs became much funner and talents became more useful. I also think class balence overall became better in wrath. So I am torn between tbc and wrath but prob favor tbc slightly because I think the raids were better.

BC was definitely my favorite. Yes, it had horrible horrible design flaws, crazy progression models, and plenty of things one could dislike...it's still my favorite due to the awesome art, beautiful zones/music/atomosphere, immersive races and characters, and Karazhan. Doesn't mean I dislike the others, I can still have a fav without forsaking all the rest or not acknowledging it's issues :)

WoW 1.0+ "Would you like some hardcore on your hardcore" "Yes, Please"
WoW 2.0+ "Gem? GEMS! Shiny on my Shiny, Brilliant"
WoW 3.0+ "Cool... Too Easy!... Too Hard!... WTF is CC? Ah just right, but a little too late huh?"
WoW 4.0+ "ZzZzZzZ... Wake me up when we get there..."
It's funny because this semi-cynical version is pretty accurate.

Oh man, how I miss all the BC sockets. So fun to have four gems in my chest piece...
Offered huge amounts of customization too.

Yeah. They should bring that back a bit =(
Edit: I'm referring to the gem choices.

I think the poll might be skewed in many ways because of the large number of people who joined during WotLK and never experienced the difference in playstyle that vanilla and BC was. I know a lot of my friends who played for a long time as well and DID experience those two eras were turned off of the game by the end of Wrath/Cataclysm.
Just some thought when looking at the poll.
Anyway, I voted for BC. Had a good mix of being PuGgable, some fun PvP (granted I played a warlock at the time so I could just roflfear everything), as well as offering hard and interesting content that is still fun to play today. Servers also seemed more like a community, and less like... a vicious dog that will bite your hand if you make a noise like servers are today, with the number of trolls.
