Why not!
Because you don't keep up to date on the goings on of WoW.

I really like Bashiok after reading that.
+1.
"Think about

"Too bad there's not a <frame> option. I'd like to hang this on the forum wall."
Indeed.

"Enjoy it while it lasts mages. Because it won't.", apparently.
Wonder what that means.
OT: I prefer the world without portals. It makes me feel more immersed somehow. It makes the distances more real.
Of course, based on the time it takes to get from A to B Azeroth would fit into a large RL city.

Means that there are going to be portals from Orgrimmar and Stormwind to the new 80+ zones (you can already ask for directions to their site from the city guards), and the major practical reason for requiring portals in Shattrath and Dalaran - i.e. access to capital-city services like trainers and AH - has already been taken care of.

But unfortunately, I don't wish. I like changing the scene around when doing quests. I may get tired of questing in one zone, and want to go somewhere else that's of a similar level. Depending on my mood, I may do this several times per level. I'm sorry I don't play the same way as everyone else.
If that's how you do things, that's fine. I've just got two things to say about:
You always have had long travel times between similar level zones, at least as Horde.
Don't knock the new zones until you've tried them. Maybe the scenery hasn't changed much, and maybe a lot of the old quests are still basically there, but flow is much better.
I'll use Mulgore as an example of the last point. I've done that zone several times, and even though most of the 5-10 quests haven't changed much at all, the zone has been greatly improved. The 1-5 area isn't "Grab two quests -> Do them -> Grab two more quests for the same place -> Repeat." There's actually a sense of purpose and actually repelling the Quilboar. Also, they've removed the running from Red Cloud Mesa to Bloodhoof Village and the running from Bloodhoof Village to Thunder Bluff by turning you into a spirit guide rather than following one. You also don't need to climb up and down Thunder Bluff four or five times and also hunt down a kodo that roams half the zone. I've always loved the zone despite it's tedium, but I think a lot of people who hiked their Tauren to Durotar or Eversong will stay in Mulgore. It really is much better, and I can only assume that most of the other classic zones are improved upon as well.
They added linearity and overall story to zones, and while you can probably drop one zone entirely and go to another, you may have to start the zone from the beginning quest-wise.
