Guns are illegal in Australia (need a license to own/use them for hunting/sport) and everything works fine. No-body fears driveby shootings or anything of the matter.
I'm not sure why America clings to its outdated constitutional 'rights'
"ZOMG BUT I NEED A GUN TO PROTECT ME FROM THAT GUY WHO HAS A GUN" If guns were illegal in the first place the dangerous person with a gun wouldnt have a gun. Your laws are digging you a big hole you wont be able to get out of without a large deal of hassle.

Made a teeny edit for me, and I agree completely.

I personally love firearms and use them on a regular basis

So your point is like "I'm a multibillionaire, and I think the new law which provides x to the rest of the community at a higher tax rate to me is stupid"
Biased

You reference "the bill" a few times OP, can you provide a link to what exactly you're talking about? I have no knowledge of an "Obama gun ban" anywhere in the works. I do know however, that Gun and Ammunition salesmen have been hyping a similar story (which is completely false) to sell more Guns and Ammunition to gullible people (and its working incredibly well) -- perhaps you've been snookered?
Anyways, if you could give me a link, I'd like to read "the bill" in question.

The only actual
bill
I can find about Gun Control is
H.R. 45
, which says none of the things you listed, and was almost immediately shelved in the house. Even if this bill was to pass on the house floor, it would have to go to the Senate, and seeing as how its been in committee for well over a year, I don't think it's going anywhere.
Here's an interesting report that might make Gun Enthusiasts feel nice: from a policy center
supporting
Gun Control, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence -- a report on how well President Obama is handling Gun Control Issues so far. They
flunked
him on all 7 tests:

So, not to jump the
gun
(haha) before you have a chance to defend yourself, but you seem to have allowed some third-party to spin you into a frenzy with lies and misinformation about something that is not in jeopardy, or even in question. Please prove me wrong.

Even so, HR 45 was immediately referred to committee, where it has sat since February of last year (meaning it is functionally dead, and won't be voted on). It only has 1 cosponsor, so this cannot rightly be called "Obama's gun ban" because it was neither written nor supported by President Obama, and it does not "ban" guns.
Can you even provide
one
credible link that your worries are at all founded in fact?
