To some people, a Wolverine is cute, and they are completely vicious and will hunt down anything that harms them. Don't know about the lifespan though.

Doesn't a Wolverine have a tail? Otherwise, I think it fits pretty well. Maybe not on colour though - it's more browny, rather than grey, but it could just be a particular breed.
