Are You So Damn Rude?

I always say 'hello :)' or something similar and I always say goodbye.
We're all there for frost or emblem/gear grind, I get that. But the way people enter often sets the mood for a run. I'd much rather have a run take a little longer where people in my pug are nice and chatty, than a superfast run where no one speaks a word and drops group as soon as it ends. I'd like to have fun also, and since the heroic you've run about a hundred times by now is unlikely to provide that, I get it mostly by interacting with some interesting people.
I've also noticed that the nice people that actually give a damn about the atmosphere in the group are usually also the people that play their class well. I've had some of my most fun and smooth emblem grinds by randomly meeting some of these people in LFD where the group had so much fun that we continued running stuff together for the rest of the evening.

I always start with a "Hi all" and some times we chat while running other times no chat. A "bb" at the end and that's it.
Manners cost nothing but some seem to treat them like it is worth the moon on a stick.

Oh and:
With the current tank shortage we have the right to be arrogant twits: you need us, we dont need you.
Actually, up until lvl 65 or so, we DON'T need you per se. I've ran with plenty of groups on my healer where tanks and others randomly dropped group, and I've finished many many instances just three manning it with for example a mage(!) tanking. No tank? No problem as long as you have a good healer to back you up.
I suspect you are just trolling, but if not.. get off your high horse, mr. Tank

With the current tank shortage we have the right to be arrogant twits: you need us, we dont need you. The rest of the group is just there to make my dungeon last shorter, if they dont meet that purpose(not talking about dps/GS here, just how they play, like slacking) im out. GL finding a new tank within the next 30 min. About the greeting stuff, I usually just say hi at the start and ty for the run, cyall at the end. Thats just manners imo.
Cool, make sure I know your character names. I'll wait until you pull, and then my healer will drop group; enjoy your repair bill. I'll be another group within 5 minutes as a healer.
I've got a tank as well, geared to run heroics currently - yet surprisingly I don't consider myself any better than the DPS or healers. Being a tank doesn't give you the right to be an arrogant twit, but feel free to fool yourself into believing that to be true.
I find it ironic that you talk about manners and then make a statement like, "Because I'm a tank and I'm so important to you, I get to be a complete *!@#$%nozzle and you can't say jack."
Anyway, back on topic: I generally will say hello to the group if someone says hello first; I will almost always say thanks at the end of the run, regardless of the caliber of the group itself. Only the worst groups get no comment at all.

I dont think you all got my point. I was defending the tanks who ARE being arrogant twits, not saying im one myself. When im in a dungeon I say Hi and ty for the run and stuff, and I really dont give a damn about wether someone is rocking 6k GS or 2k. I dont consider myself better than the dps or healer; I say that the people who do so have a point. And about the letting me die: GL with that, im a blood dk.

If I feel talkative I'll say hello at the beginning of the run and 'thanks for the run all' at the end. If I don't, I won't and will just drop group at the end. Pleasantries are pleasant and all, but the most intelligent thing I've seen said in a random is 'Ready?' so if it's all the same (and even if it's not) I'd rather just heal quietly, get my frosts and head out. If that's not satisfactory, be sure to rage in /p so I can have a laugh with my guildies. :D

I always try to talk and have fun every run, 80% of the time I get people who don't either want to talk or don't have the capacity to talk lol. The other 20% we have fun and enjoy me talking as much as I enjoy them talkin gand we usually re-que!

No, I get you clearly. You're saying that because there are so few tanks, they have the right to be arrogant. I wholeheartedly disagree. A dearth of available tanks does not give the general tanking populace the right to be pricks, and I'm saying that as a tank myself.
They may use it as an excuse for acting like elitists, but that doesn't make it a valid excuse. As I said, I play both a healer and a tank; as a tank, I understand that without the 3 DPS and the healer, I don't have a run. And as a healer, when a tank tries to act like he's Dog's gift to heroics, I let him pull, and then as I leave group I remind him that without a healer, he's dead.

Hmm I worded it a little poorly there.(English isnt my main language) I dont mean they have the right, but rather they have the (excuse? is that the word?). Anyway, I didnt mean elitist morons. I meant arrogant pricks. Because you can say whatever you want, but if something is rare its valuable. I'm gearing a dps atm and I can say, whenever the tank leaves the group you might aswell tele out and continue your dailys, as getting a new one will take 10 min+. So its usually easier to run with an arrogant tank than wait for a better one.

Arrogant tank here.
I don't say anything. As soon as my screen is loaded I pull. I charge from pack to pack, trying to keep Out of Combat time at a minimum. I don't say hello, or goodbye. Normally my only comments will be negative ones, berating exceptionally poor DPS. If there is an exceptionally good DPS, I will give them props.
That's about it. I'm not there to be your friend, just there to get business done.
Sorry if it seems rude, but it's the truth.
To clarify, I don't care if the DPS is pulling 2k, or if I'm out-damaging everyone, or if I'm doing 50% of the overall damage. I expect that; I'm good, overgeared, chain-pulling, and spamming cleave. When pulls take 10 seconds to kill, and I'm in combat 2 or 3 seconds before my DPS is, I expect that I'll do more damage than them.
So like I said, I don't care if the DPS is pulling 2k or I'm carrying the group. I do care if there's a half AFK hunter who's doing 800 DPS. That's the kind of exceptionally poor performance that I'll berate. Likewise, if I have an awesome Warlock or Mage that's blowing everything away, or a rogue who's being good about Tricksing me, then I'll throw them a good comment. Otherwise I'm not even going to talk, except to any guildies who are with me. I usually grab a DPS or two from guild before I queue since they appreciate an instant queue.

Not saying im an arrogant one myself. Well, sometimes I am. Usually not.
Edit: And I could be also speaking from the arrogant tank's point of view.(not saying I was)
