I totally agree that the sexual dimorphism is a stylistic choice rather than an indication of the evolution of the species. But, I was trying to give somewhat of an explanation for it, as the Draenei (with the exception of the Naga) are the most polarized in body structure between the male and female genders.Hmm, I'd argue troll and draenei as a toss up - but that's me. :P
Another question of mine about the draenei; what would they find attractive? We know what the elves like, although the kaldorei are quite hourglass - albeit not to the same extent as the draenei - and we know what most races like, such as humans and orcs. Would round hips be considered beautiful? Would horn shape, bust, tendril and tail length matter?

I'm not really seeing evidence of the horns being Pronghorn-like; female Draenei horns are one solid shape, not a series of prongs (which is what the keratinized skin creates in Pronghorn males). The shape of the bony horn core has some influence; and female draenei horns—going by art rather than by in-game—have some degree of texture to them. For what it's worth, I generally ignore the sexual dimorphism because it is endemic in WoW. The size difference among human males and females is unrealistic as well, so I presume that this is simply a stylistic choice, and not a strict interpretation of what the races would look like if we actually saw them. Rather, these are most likely the "ideal/extreme" physiques for these races, similar to how bodybuilding magazines feature men who are far larger (often impractically so) than the average human male. From what I've seen in tie-in novels, female draenei are described as tall and slender. Male draenei are taller and more lightly built than male orcs, but look big and imposing to humans. My thought is that they'd notice shoulders and hips.

on unbroken nobundo noticed how a draenei female who was turning to broken was quite sad that her tail was lost, as were their cloven hooves. By his description "her beutifull tail was gone"
so, hooves and tails play a large role in draenei sexapeal.

I think that what appeals to draenei would vary by person to person but most likely i would say that it's the same as with humans.

Well, it could be something like this, or it could be that in her becoming a Broken, she is losing the parts that make her a Draenei. The fact that the Broken are so drastically changed would make them unappealing to those that are unchanged; so, it could just be that by referring to her "beautiful tail" being gone, Nobundo is merely stressing how marginalized the Broken are in Draenei society.

Dang. No wonder they didn't bother completing the broken female model, it wouldn't have made sense to have them when they all killed themselves.

wha.... they didn't killed themselves, one of them did, that doesn't mean all of them did, if they didn't had any females then how do they reproduce?
lore-wise there are broken and lost-one females, but there are none of those in-game, remember that it used to be the same with the man'ari eredar, there was no female model in-game till patch 2.4.0
is the same deal as ogres, there are ogre females but we haven't seen any in-game (yet)

Only they all just use the female draenei model.

not
the infamous Strange Female Creature from the old Warcraft manual, but it's still not going to win any beauty contests.

That always bugs me... >:(
Incidentally, there is an incomplete female Broken model in the files. It's solid black and looks like the right half of the female Tauren from the shoulder down. No head, that I remember.

No head, that I remember.Yeah, it's just an untextured partial tauren. Looks like they started on it, then dropped it halfway through (or forgot about it).
I know...BC is old hat now. But they should still complete it (along with female taunka). They traded Sironas's old model out for the mini-Sacrolash one, after all. (And give Farseer Nobundo, Lady Liadrin, and Hamuul Runetotem unique models already.)

The northern lights in Azeroth are yellow / white, not the green / red / pink / blue of oxygen & nitrogen. I'm not sure what that'd correspond to, but their air is definitely not like ours.
And the matter of half-breeds makes sense. Every race was made by the Titans; they just used the same template for every race (which also explains why they're all humanoid).

As far as i'm gathering from this most of the Dreanei's current bodily features are "Leftovers":
Hooves, no longer needed now that they've become a sentinent species with vehicles and pack animals. Now, I don't see why this applies any more to draenei than it does to, say, tauren. If the ancestral species had hooves, evolving into sentients wouldn't necessarily have done away with them.
Here's what I theorized over at the official RP forum: My guess is that first you had a predator with grabbing/tearing claws in front and hoof-claws behind, then a bipedal and somewhat more omnivorous animal such as what you've described (the hooves at that point would be splayed and possibly three- or four-toed), and then a foraging primate-analogue with dewclawed hooves. "Cave-eredar," so to speak, would be the step after that.Much as it irritates me when people compare draenei to goats...well, Argus
has
been implied to have a lot of mountains.
Of course, I also hold with the theory that most animal life on Argus had "mismatched" front and hind limbs.Tails, still there probably because their bodies have evolved in such a way that they need them to walk correctly, like the whiskers on a Cat or a Human's Big toe, its possible to walk without them but its extremely difficult.Yeah, it's a balance thing. (I also theorized that loss of more than half of the tail would require the character to use a cane.)
Tentacles.... Ehm..... I have a question about them; Anyone here ever made a dreanei toon? (Duh, of course you have, its retorical) I know by heart their creation screen and on the Male Dreanei's creation screen when you click one of the arrows for <-- Facial Hair --> that it edits his tentacles.... Odd, is it not? Are they not tentacles at all then? But rather some form of strange braid? Or just one hugely fat strand of hair? If they were tentacles, then you would be able to see a Dreanei or two ingame moving his, right? (Moving while falling/jumping is different, gravity moves
everything
) Although, i'm leaning towards the sea theory combined with my own theory about their "Leftover" Parts, that if they
ARE
tentacles then the muscles used to move them waaaaaaaaaaaaay back on the evolutional timeline would have evolved on to do something else, or simply evolved away, gone, making the tentacles immobile in the later generations. Now, that's easy. They're atrophied barbels, like a catfish has. They used to serve the same purpose as vibrissae.
Good question!
I, actually, don't have any kind of answer, which is unfortunate and surprising to myself... Hmm....
Though, obviously, there would be overweight members of the race and overly muscular members of the race aswell in a real life scenario, BUT, this is WoW,
so
we have to accept that both the male and female versions of the race are perportioned to be ''Perfect" In peak physical condition but yet not too.... How you could say "Steroid Abuser" looking? and not too much of a McDonalds fan either. Therefore making what we see ingame to be what the "normal" dreanei would find attractive, correct?Possibly. In my personal fanon (which seems to be somewhat supported by the tie-in novels), they
are
strongly dimorphic, but there's a lot more variation in physique than you'd see in-game. (As I believe that I've stated before, one of my male draenei characters is of average height and built like a fireplug; another is tall and rawboned; and a third is most likely pudgy.)
Also, how old is everyone here? o.o I find myself reading this and using this dialogue myself and completely comprehending all of it, and i'm 14 years old, my 17 year old sister, a person of average american IQ, (100) has no idea what i'm talking about when i say "H2O is better for you than Pop y'know." The only response i get is "Huh? What are you talking about nerdo? <Insert evil preppy sister giggling>" Oh how i hate her....Old enough to be your maiden aunt. And water
is
better for you than soda.

Heh, 18 years old here. Not exactly Richard Dawkins, but I did get through AP Biology (College level, for those of you without knowledge of the American educational system) in 10th grade, so I know a decent about about evolution... :P Facinating stuff really, especially evolutionary psychology.
