Well if he can balance the play time with both teams than nothing. Or it will become a 3s team. This allows them to play on the same team, and it wont effect 2s

Just kick John out of the band before Yoko does any real damage.
Seriously though the penalties for team jumping are pretty lame and you and your friend will never have the same PR again. if one of you hits 1800, the other will be at 1726 PR and unable to get diddly squat.
I left a team once and came back team was at 1300something I started back at 1000 and even like 100 games later me and my buddies PR was out of synch.

Team hopping works the best when the person who is hopping, needs nothig from 2's rating.
For instance, an ele shaman friend of mine team hops betweens about 5 teams, and it doesn't matter because he is 2200 in 3's, so needs nothing related to 2's rating.
