I raid frost. Is it less single-target dps than Arcane? Absolutely. In my opinion, it's worth it, as I enjoy playing the character more. Viable enough as far as I'm concerned. Frost also provides some things that Arcane can't - a ranged dps pet to keep up the yellow orb on Blood Princes, exceptional damage on trash packs, and replenishment.

If they raise the spellpower coefficient by another 20%, you might see frost in raids again.

The things that would make frost viable arent going to happen.
Lower CD of Deep Freeze for example, would be OP to PvP great for PvE.
I'm using Frost for 2 reasons, blood prince's and DreamWalker.
Blood Princes Bombs, Dreamwalker AoE down the blood worms.

I agree, but they could make adjustments to areas high on the talent tree that would make a difference. Both Arctic Winds and Chilled to the Bone could have the damage boosted enough to make frost good on single targets.

blizz could lower cd to deep freeze for pve by adding this:
...if cast on a permanently stun immune target it's cool down is lowered by 10 sec
or something like that

In the next patch we shall be seeing Firefrost Bolt be used since the Brainfreeze Proc will be changed to include it.
And since Firefrost Bolt is buffed by our current talents, I think it'll end up being around a straight 500 dps buff. Also, it will be able to use procs of FoF, which will then (obviously) cause the crit leaving with a rather nice damage spike.
On another note, if Blizzard want to buff Frost Mages further, turn the WE into an actual pet/minion/summon/etc. and give it a percentage of our Crit and Haste ratings. That's where the money is.

As I said, turn it into an ACTUAL pet/minion/summon/etc. Not just make it last indefinably; aka, it should have a pet screen, which it doesn't thus rendering it NOT a pet/minion/summon/etc.

Why does it have to be a permanent pet in that sense? With the glyph, it does the following:
Once summoned, there is no limit on the duration of uptime.
Benefits from raid buffs.
It can attack indefinitely thanks to the ability to gain replenishment from point 2, and the reduction in Water Bolt mana cost
Isn't that the exact same function warlock/DK/hunter pets also function in a PvE environment?

Well, DK pets, yes, except that lock pets bring utility/raid buffs, and hunter pets have talents. And DK pets don't aggro while you're mounted,
because they're not sitting there dumbly waiting to be attacked
.
Having said that, I'm happy that the cooldown on summoning starts from cast time, not from pet death, like DKs.
Sorry, back to raiding.

That doesn't sound too bad. Or they could just increase the damage - it's not like Frost has long-term threat issues anyway.

Someone eariler said that DF generates too much threat on a crit, is that true? I could see it maybe if you got the proc on the first FB cast and the tank hadn't really had time to generate a high threat level.

Nah i disagree on that, if u get t10 4piece and i raid blood princes in frost (bomb duty with pet, 10man raids).
Mirror Image boost ur damage for 18% When i start with MI and i go all out with frost i often have to hold back @ start on this fight to make sure im not above the tank when the images disappears.
Also i raided frost ICC25 in a pug, just for giggles. @ start of every fight u have the same problems with MI, and the tanks were good as the are every week (18 players are attending this pug everyweek)
Yesterday i could be Arcane on Blood Princes as the other mage wanted to do the bomb duty with her frost offspec (she didnt do it before). Starting with MI and all out on CD's i wasnt even close to the aggro of frost sure i was still high on the table but still 90% and not +115% as frost. The longer the fight goes the less problems Arcane has, Frost keeps his Aggro problems and thats something to get used to again when i respec to fire in 3.3.3 for the raid buff in our 10mans.
