When to gem pure haste, if ever?

I have not found any situations in which Rawr has said gemming pure haste is a better DPS increase than haste/spellpower. Granted I'm still working on my first piece of T10 so I don't have any experience at that gear level, but so far Rawr has never suggested a pure haste gem for me.
Can someone write a "Using Rawr" guide? I know there's one in the mage stickies somewhere, but perhaps people don't know it's in there because the thread isn't titled "How to Use Rawr." I mean no offense OP, but we see these questions constantly.

It's very sticky, because the more spellpower you have, the more haste is worth, but it scales backwards too. The LESS spellpower you have the LESS haste is worth. If you gem purely for haste, you lose a lot of spellpower, so the value of all that extra haste is certainly less than what it was before when you were gemmed for spellpower.
As far as I'm aware there isn't a formula yet that figures the changing ratio between the two stats yet.

I am only slightly behind you stat-wise, I meet all socket bonuses with either sp/haste or sp/spirit(aside from three runed dragon eyes). I manage to pull 8k+ sustained on non gimmick fights
thats pretty bad for your stats... ive got almost the same stats(less haste =( ) and usually on non gimmick fights easily over 9k dps...

I'm no authority on mage theorycrafting. I did recently read a two posts specific to Arcane mages.
The first suggested stacking hit first until it capped around 289, then stack spell power to 2400, then stack haste.
Another post stated that haste has a soft cap around 1600. At that point the global cool down is reduced to one second. You cannot reduce it further. Beyond 1600 haste you would then be better to return to resume stacking spell power.

How many times does it need to be stated? Spellpower and haste carry a very similar benefit to DPS; the difference between 1 point of haste and 1 point of spellpower is < 1 DPS (at any gear level, at any level of either stat).
If you run out of mana before the end of a fight without going into AB-spam-mana-dump mode, then you need to gem less haste and more spellpower. If you have mana left over, lose some spellpower and go for haste.
Edit: The best arcane mages do almost as much damage as Rawr says they can and run completely out of mana and mana resources at the end of a fight.
