'Powered by Wowhead' not working with .xhtml extension
Return to board index
I'm having a go at using your powered by Wowhead script to add tooltips to a site I'm working on. The site is xhtml 1.0 strict, and has an xhtml file extension.
I've added the link as<script src="
It doesn't work when the file extension is xhtml, but if I change the extension to html, it works fine.
Any idea why this is?
Hello? No chance of a reply?
This problem is likely not a Wowhead issue... Your hosting service may not have their server configured to process the specific ".xhtml" file extension. Try one of these:
If one of those extensions work, then use it. Also make sure your scripting tags are properly nested.
edit: i had posted a reply a few days ago, but it seems that alot of my posts go missing a few minutes after being posted.
That is not what he is talking about Federalagent, he is saying the Powered By script doesn't work when used with a page that has a xhtml extension, that is probably why your post was removed. Staff will provide support for Site Feedback when appropriate.
Not exactly Gyphon, I have noticed it many many times, not just with this post. Its not removed, its just not there. I click reload and it disappears. so if it was removed, there likely would have been another reply in its place. With 6 years of programming behind me, i just misunderstood the OPs problem, i thought the OP was talking about the entire file itself. not just the tooltips. If you took time to glance at my profile, i do have some background education and skills on it.
Fiddled around with this a bit more.
It seems your script is unhappy when the page is sent with a content type of "application/xhtml+xml"
If I leave the extension as .xhtml, but serve the page with a content type of "text/html" it works again.
