I just got an MX518 but I cannot get mouse buttons 6, 7 and 8 to work. Can anyone help me?

Did you install the SetPoint software? If you're trying to have them act like Mouse 6-8, you're out of luck. You can have them simulate a keystroke once you have the SetPoint software installed, but you won't be able to use them as mouse buttons.
To get them to work as a keystroke, you have to have SetPoint installed first. Then, open it up, select the button you want to modify, and select "Keystroke Assignment". Click in the box that appears below the selectable tasks, and perform whatever key combination you want to happen.
I personally use a MX518, but I decided to set those three buttons to "Do Nothing", since I really don't want to mess with simulated keystrokes.

I have an issue with Logitech in general. I have an MX700 Keyboard/Mouse combo. Contacted them about my mouse failing after a month of use. They instructed me to send it in. Since it was a combo i sent everything back. Just received the mouse. I had to call them to get it sorted out. Now i have to send this mouse back just to get my combo back.
As for your issue, im not sure, just wanted to give you a heads up about their returns issues.
