I honestly stopped worrying about my crit% once I hit around your level.
I've seen people well over 50% unbuffed (with heavy Crit-oriented gems and enchants), but I personally am comfortable at 40% unbuffed, add a Boomkin's 5% aura and a Mage's 3% focus and take into consideration Renewed Hope's 4% buff to targets affected by the Weakened Soul debuff and I'm well over 50%... I generally try to avoid pieces that don't have Crit, especially if I have an alternative that does have Crit and I don't bother gemming for Crit at all.
It also depends on your main role in raids. If you're often healing tanks, Haste and Crit become more valuable, compared to someone who'd generally be keeping PW:S up on an entire raid, who'd benefit more from SP alone.
