if you're not going to use the cookie cutter specs and you want to make your own why do you ask us if its good? Just pull up the cookie-cutter and work off of that. Btw, no. Failspec.
This assumes that one knows the cookie-cutter spec, in which case there would be no/little reason to ask for feedback. Sure, he//she should dig around a little more, but not everyone is on the same level of experience, so I think there's somewhat of a fallacy with your logic.

And I'll gladly agree with that logic when forums integrate sufficient A.I. to open a giant window screaming, "BLOOD TANK COOKIE CUTTERS, GET YOUR BLOOD TANK COOKIE CUTTERS! FILM AT 11!"
That way, there'd be no excuse. Until then, it's not that hard to believe that some people simply don't know where to look.
