no, sorry, macros aren't intelligent and can't check for a buff/debuff on you or a target

I have a macro for both Friendly and Enemy Dispel, just like I have a macro for both Friendly and Enemy Penance.
Here's what I use for those...
#showtooltip
/cast Dispel Magic
...for Offensive Dispel or...
#showtooltip
/cast Dispel Magic
...for Defensive Dispel.
Basically, both macro will first try to cast Dispel on your current target, then if you try to Dispel on a target of the wrong faction (Defensive on enemies or Offensive on friends), it will instead try to target your target's target, which works great to Dispel a fear off an enemy Warlock's target you're already targeting, wait for his cast bar to indicate he's done casting, then simply hit Defensive Dispel without changing targets, if your target's target is also inadmissible, it will try to cast it on your focused target, if you're using the /focus feature, then in the case of the Defensive Dispel, if you're not using /focus or if your focused targed is also inadmissible, it will cast Dispel on you.
I actually use those "filters"/"triggers" on practically all my spells so I don't have to switch targets much or even look at who/what I'm targetting when I cast something, if I want to assist a friend, I target him and all my offensive spells will hit his target, and vice-versa, if I target an enemy, I can heal his target without having to click on anyone else...
Try that...

what panik said except my first line conditional is:
Offensive
/cast Dispel Magic
Defensive
/cast Dispel Magic
Now bind to mousewheel up and down respectively

@Panik8: Putting focus at the end of the condition list would cause all the other conditions to block it. So, if you have a target, your focus will never get a dispel. To make the dispel actually go to your focus, you'd have to actually drop your target and then re-acquire it. I get around that in my macros of the kind by also using mouseover which is the only thing that overrides focus. It's play style, though, I suppose.
@ignayshus: Why put a modifier on your mouseover conditions? Are you worried you will rest your mouse in the wrong place and it will unintentionally block you from dispelling your target or its target?

@pelf - partially yes, but tbh I use (shift+)mousewheel as my vuhdo setup for dispel/abolish (up/dwn) respectively and sometimes I'd prefer it go directly to my target or target's target without having to hold down the right mbutton or think about where my mouse is.
(edit: and vice versa - meaning I've got say the off tank targetted for my heals, but I need to drop a quick dispel on the MT to get off the fusion punch debuff (first thing that came to mind).)
sounds like you have a possible improvement to offer :)

Yep, and it's exactly what I want. That way, if I /focus a Druid in arena and he goes Innervate, I can just drop target and spam Dispel to get him, while if I was putting earlier in the string, it would prevent me from Dispeling his teammate while I have him focused... I'm not a fan of mouse-over macros, as it seems to hinder my ability to move around while in combat. It works for me anyways, I'm not saying mouseover macros aren't great, only they're not for me.
Edit: For example, let's assume a situation, with a Druid who's running behind my back while I'm busy doing something else, I generally know where he is, but can't see him, then, I see on Gladius that he went Innervate, with mouse-over macro, I'd be tempted to simply hover the mouse over his health bar and try to Dispel, which might work in most cases, but if that Druid was clever enough to LoS me before hitting Innerv, I'd get a "Target is not in line of sight." sysmsg, so I'd have to move my cursor off from his health bar in order to turn around, locate him and move in his LoS, etc..., but I'll have lost at least 1 or 2 seconds from trying to Dispel him first, while with my macro, I can simply drop target and hit my macro at the same time as I am turning around and already be on the move before the spell even fails to land... Like I said, mouse-over simply isn't for me, or I must be doing it wrong, but I'm comfortable with my current playing style... Anyways, if you have any (other) tips to improve my play, they'd certainly be taken into consideration.
