So I've just finished reading Lord of the Clans, Rise of the Horde, and a few others. If you've read any of the books that follow Thrall, Drek'Thar, Durotan, etc, then you've surely had the same boner that I have for Shaman. So now I'm finally gonna roll one.
I've got him the heirloom shoulders and chest piece, and should have both trinkets within a day or so. But what about my weapon? I have two choices:
The Devout Aurastone Hammer - http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42948
- Or -
Dignified Headmaster's Charge - http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42947
Now at this time, I really just don't have a desire to level as Enhancement. From what I can tell, it is basically a melee dps spec with a bit of magic to it. I understand that it is generally the preferred spec at the moment, but since I've played a Rogue since 2004 and more recently a DK, I just don't have a desire to do another melee dps class.
I want to use the powers of the Elements! Call Lightning down upon my enemies, and have the Earth swallow them whole after seering their flesh with the Spirit of Fire!
SO, back to the point: Mace or Staff? Does it make a difference which one I choose if my intentions are to level as Elemental? I also have a level 80 Priest, so I'm comfortable with healing instances along the way should I get tired of waiting for queues as dps. I'll most likely purchase dual spec asap and go Elemental/Resto.
