DPS Question

Just curious, a question for the more experienced hunters here:

What level of DPS should I be capable of on raid bosses with my current gear/spec? Last night I pulled about 3k on Onyxia 10-man.

Also, what can I change that will boost my DPS with my current gear?

(My Attack Power is 4668 with Trueshot Aura and Aspect of Dragonhawk up)

I raid with my guild, so raid composition is usually the same:
1 Hunter (me)
1 or 2 Priests
1 Rogue
1 DK
1 Druid
1 Warlock
1 Paladin (Blessing of Might)
The last few slots vary depending on who's online at the time.

PS: I know that PvP cloak needs to go, I'll be replacing it later today after heroics reset.

First, you are way over the hit cap. Hit cap is 8% and you're sitting at 11%.

Second, your gems are all wrong. Never gem pure attack power unless you're BM. Always gem pure agility unless there is a socket bonus with 4 agility or higher and the slot is yellow. In that case you would gem 10 agility 10 crit. Change your Meta gem to http://www.wowhead.com/?item=41398 and dont gem for haste either.

Last, your talent build should be: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#cxbZ0eVsRhzGIsthAox00b with Glyph of Kill Shot, Steady Shot, Serpent Sting. Your DPS Priority is: Apply Serpent Sting, Chimera Shot, Aimed Shot, Arcane Shot, Steady x3 (sometimes 4 depending on haste). When Imp Steady Shot procs always make sure to use it with Chimera Shot. Once you gain enough ArP (500ish) you can drop Arcane shot from your spec and rotation.

Thanks for the info. I swapped my spec as you recommended and have seen a increase in DPS on the test dummy. I will work on fixing my gems as I can afford to.

As far as Hit goes, I know I'm overcap by a good amount and have been pretty much since I started getting epic gear. As I get gear of higher level and better suited to my spec that should balance out.
