1) When dual wielding, does it only deal damage based on your main hand weapon, or both weapons?
Based on Main hand, even if it its the OH crit it calculates. Theorethically (if loosing stats and dps on a OH wasnt as big deal) you could use a fast dagger in OH to generate crazy amount of DW damage.
2) Does it ignore armor? I don't mean the ticks themselves (bleeds ignore armor), but is the total amount based on weapon damage on your character sheet, or weapon damage mitigated by the mob's armor rating (and your armor penetration)?
Weapon damage is weapon damage. It isnt mitigated. It says
your average weapon damage
not, your average hit on a given opponent. Bleeds surpass armor reduction (but are subject to reduction by resilience if you are pvping).
There are three types of average weapon damage. Normalised, normal and unmodified.
(Weapon DPS + AP/14) * Weapon Speed
You use this formula for both normal and normalised weapon damage. With normal as weapon speed you use its actual weapon speed, with normalised you use normalised weapon speed (3.5s for a twohander)
For unmodified weapon damage you use this formula:
Weapon DPS * Weapon Speed
Again, top end damage doesnt matter.

1) Don't quote me on this, but main hand only.
2) It's character sheet weapon damage. Note that it's not just this base value, but any procs that would increase weapon damage (AP Procs, Enrages, etc) increase deep wound damage during that time. Armor Pen has no effect on deep wounds.

From what i seen in some patch notes long ago, DW is no longer a subject of % damage talents. So no enrage or 2hander spec affects it.
I think it was somwhere between buffing arms and nerfing fury.

I'm just speaking from a prot perspective. Defensive Stance -5%, Improved Defensive Stance +10%, and OHW Spec +10% all affect deep wounds damage.
Just tested. Defensive Stance vs Battle Stance there was a difference. Then went Fury spec and tested with popping Deathwish, which added the 120% to character sheet and increased my DW ticks on the dummy by about 20 each.
So yes, all of the damage modifying things still affect DW damage.

So i guess it was just 2h weapon spec that they meant.
Or a typical PTR qq.

But... is that because it adds a % of damage to the ticks or because it adds a % of damage to your weapon damage (which means higher damage ticks)?
I don't understand the question. Deep Wounds does 48% of your weapon damage. So if your weapon damage increases, your deep wounds increases.

I know but at one point, I think it was double dipping into the buffs. You know, 10% from one-handed weapon specialization to your weapon damage and then another 10% to the deep wounds ticks (despite being there from the former).
yes, very early on. but it was changed as it was doing waaaay too much damage for dps warriors.

"Early on"? That was in
patch 3.1.0
:
Deep Wounds: The damage done by this talent no longer receives modifications from effects that increase or decrease damage done by a percentage. The base weapon damage used in the calculation will still be modified by those effects.
