PvP Build + Gear Help Needed
Return to board index
I'm having a hard time deciding on build for 2s and how to gear for it. I'm also having the same problems for 3s as well, but I think I know what's better for 3s, when it comes to gear at least. My partner is a Feral Druid.
For 2s here's what I was thinking (spec+glyph):
I put together a profile to show you what I would be aiming for to start arenas:
Should I be going for spirit on my gear or keep up with the haste?
I also saw this spec on another site(34/37/0):
As usual, I must start by stating that your PvP spec should reflect your playing style. While a lot of people can tell you to spec like they spec, it will do you no good if you don't play like they play... Keep that in mind.
Your first linked spec is basically the common Smite spec, the only changes I'd make would be to drop Divine Aegis at least to 1/3, you'll find as you gear up in PvP that your crit rate simply doesn't justify the 30% bonus to crits. Put those points into Grace and Renewed Hope for more dispel fodder against Priests, Shamans and Mages. Putting one point in each talent is recommended, but I personally skip Divine Aegis altogether and put 2/2 into Grace.
As for the prolife linked... First of all, achieve AT LEAST the soft caps for Hit (4%) and Penetration (65), but I strongly recommend capping both, 6% for Hit Rating and 130 for Spell Penetration, in order to prevent any resist or miss on your offensive spells. You generally lack of other stats, but that should probably be fixed with proper gemming and enchanting. Get the Shoulders from WG over the set shoulders, imho. I'd also take my time and farm more honor to get Wrathful over Relentless, but that'd mean a considerably bigger effort at farming BGs... but it'd be worth it.
As for the second spec... Well... I wouldn't play that in Arenas, for a lot of reasons... At first, I thought it was some sort of Holy-oriented Smite spec, but without Spiritual Guidance, that wouldn't make sense. Then I thought it might be a healer spec that wants to take advantage of Surge and Body&Soul's buff to PW:S to be spamming mostly instants all fight long, but without Meditation and Holy Concentration, this doesn't make any sense either. While I do think that Holy can be viable in specific compositions, this isn't the way it should be done. Either focus on every single DPS-improving talent or on every single healing/regen-improving talents, but in this case, he took a little of both and left out what is mandatory.
Edit: Pay arenajunkies.com a visit and look at top ranking Disc Priests to see how they do it... For best results, look up Priests that are teamed up with the same class/spec as you are.
silent resolve is a must-have talent unless you want to waste every single shield you cast
