Another MM or Surv question

hello.

i havent played, or raided for that matter, since pre 3.2. As far as i am aware, alot has changed. So, i was wondering which spec was supposed to be better, MM or surv.

i was afraid of that lol. I think for awhile MM was better with higher gearscore, and then Surv was straight up better. But, from the sounds of it, i should be fine with either. I kind of like the BM part of the tree for MM, like this http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#ctbMzxZ0eVbRhzGIsxhAoo

Read the stickies. In even heroic gear, the BM talents are inferior to the SV talents from the standard build. You have to waste 3 points on 0-dps talents to get the mediocre talents in 3rd-tier BM.

Improved Hunter's Mark > Aspect Mastery (unless someone else in your raid already has it)

Improved Tracking > Unleashed Fury (15% of your pet's DPS is way less than 5% of your own)

Improved Arcane Shot is worthwhile if you're using it in your rotation, which is usually a good idea until you get 400+ ArP.

I'd dump the 9 crap points from BM and take Imp Tracking and Survival Instincts from SV + Imp Arcane from MM (usually you'll find the MM hunters with enough ArP to drop Arcane will cover Imp Mark because they don't have anything else to do with those points).
