Rare Spawn questions

Anyone know when the rare spawn respawn timer starts? As soon as the mob dies? When is spawns? Are they all the same?
I've been looking around for this info for a day or so, but I haven't found anything really definitive. anyone out there know?

I believe it is after they die, and all spawn timers vary, sorry.

If you know the name of the rare you're looking for or the zone it is in, look up said monster/zone and most of the time there will be a comment or two with spawn times and how long it takes for a respawn. Also....it is after they are killed. Certain rares despawn themselves, however.
that's what I usually do, but I can't find one. lol

It all depends on which rare it is. Some will, some will not. I have tested this many times with many rares in 5 years. It all comes down to their timers, which are based on actual time itself. The timers are not reset during a server reset. If the re-spawn time has passed during the maintenance period, then yes the rare will be there. Not all rares start their timers after death. Some are re spawned at set times of the day.
Some rares are based on X number of times within Y time frame... Some will spawn within so much time. One rare might be there at the same time each day... Another might only re-spawn 2 hours after it was killed. Its hard to tell really.
Also, a trick that is eaily done... Make a Macro Button. Put this code in
/ target
*rares name*
Then move the button to an action bar, and press the keyboard button every second or so.

actually, i'm looking for the respawn timers for arcturis. it was added in the 3.3 patch, so there's not alot of info about it yet. that and the king krush/aotona/loque'nothalackawacka(sp). I want to tame a couple of them on my huntard.

I don't believe you will get anything special by taming them... Maybe the looks, if your lucky.

well, loque and arcturis are spirit beasts and king krush is a green devilsaur. spirit beasts and devilsaurs are exotic hunter pets. spirit beasts are all rare spawns, and I'm collecting them, lol. I need arc and loque to complete the set. :D
