what do you mean by stack? damage shield does a % of your block value, and a shield spike adds zero block value...

I've just had people question me doing that and i didn't think the 2 were related.

And if you have Thorns and Retribution Aura active on you, they'll stack on too. Pity that Blessing of Sanctuary doesn't reflect damage as well anymore.

The damage of these two adds up however much better choice is
Titanium plating
, if you are going for reflects.
Notice the spike does damage only on blocks and its flat damage of 45-67.
By adding Titanium plating you up your BV by 81, effectively adding 16+ damage to your damage shield, which works on blocks and hits.
EDIT: I forgot to add that its probably affected by all talents increasing block value by percentage (30%) and probably by 1h weapon spec as well (10%) so the resulting amount is 81*1.3*1.1=116. 20% of it is 23.
Whats your typical Brating without shield block up? 10-15%? Avoidance? Lets say 50%?
So uptime of spike is 10-15%, uptime of plating is 50%. Do the math.
Plating also adds you to your mitigation and shield slam damage.
This is all true unless all your are going for is herding only with your shield block up (and than waiting for the cd) and unless you really plan to use this crap for leveling 70-80.
