As for Haste affecting autos.
Many people dont think about it but it actually synergies (multiplicatevely) with high amount of ArP/ArP proc trinkets or any other AP/AGI/whatever proc/on use trinkets. It also rises the uptime of Imp Aspect of the Hawk, making some sort of a perpetuum mobile.
High haste = more auto shots
More auto shots = more autoshots within certain thing proc duration = even more autoshot damage
More auto shots while Imp Hawk is up = more chances of proccing it again.
I wish i had more haste currently. With my current fps lag in 25mans "improved" autoshot is my main source of damage.

There has been some conflicting information, so I'll throw in some of my own to help clear things up.
Unlike casters, hunters cannot low their GCD below 1.5 seconds. Since MM has 10-second CDs on Aimed and Chimera, you don't really need any haste at all. The 15% ranged haste we get as a class ability brings the Steady Shot cast time down to ~1.7 seconds, which is fast enough that 4x Steady won't delay our money shots.
There is no point in gearing haste, since every other stat (hit, crit, AP, agility, ArP) is better.
With more autoshots, you will get better uptime from some trinkets and the T10 2p bonus. This makes haste a little better, but it is still behind all of our stats.
Having said all that, if you have any DPS cooldowns, you can stack a haste effect with another DPS effect so that your extra shots will be boosted further. E.g., pop Rapid Fire when your trinket procs or when your T10 2p bonus is up.
