Levelling Shadow Rotation

I had near on 2k gold plus a huge amount of mats in the bank so I figured I would check out dual spec on my priest.
I had always been lolSmite so tried out a Shadow spec. Went in to Gundrak and in a group made up of level 76 to 78 I topped DPS by a fair bit, doing just under 30% of the damage.
My rotation is something like:
VT (or VE – the dot one), SWP, Dev Plague, SWD, MB, MF a couple of times, then when Dev Plague is about to run out I redo VT/VE (so Im not keeping it up 100% of the time, but about 50%), Dev Plague, SWD, MB then MF will refresh the SWP anyway.
I dont SWD every time its up because I dont always remember, and I dont use MB every time its off CD either.
If you look at my talents I ignored the Imp Spirit Tap because my crit is so low I dont think its going to trigger a huge amount of times. I guess I will get them at 79 and 80, once I start to get some better gear.
So the question is, is this the best rotation? Have I messed up my talents? What Glyphs should I be looking at?
Gearwise, I have not deliberately rolled on stuff just for my healing spec, or DPS spec. I simply rolled on what I could. Having done literally 50 or 60 runs of dungeons, Ive seen a couple of items drop literally every time Ive gone in, but some have never dropped.

The rotation I use with Jinzai, my lvl 77 priest, is based on the number of mobs:
Less than 4: VT-> MB -> MF -> Saronite Bomb -> SW:P -> DP on the highest hp mob or least focused, then I follow a priority system like this:
VT if it runs out
DP
MB
MF
SW:D if i refresh a Dot and MB is a GCD from being off CD
4 or more: SW:P -> DP on one, then Mind Sear until someone dies, then MB and MF as the mobs should be near death to the point that dot application would be a waste.
This gets me to 1.9k to 2.5k depending on pack sizes.

Yeah but you also added in more info, which I added in after an edit; we'll call it a draw.

Was really focussing on bosses in instances. Not too fussed on trash, or on mobs when questing. They die easily enough.
So VT is an important one to keep up at all times? I was keeping DP up, but not VT all the time (as I said above, about 50% of the time). If I do MB every time its off CD, should I also be doing SW:D ?

I suspect most of my time this spec will be used for questing, rather than doing heroics. I really dont see me raiding much at all. So I like the Imp PWS. I dont use Shadowfiend much at all, as I can use Dispersion. Given this, I probably dont need Imp VE either. Was thinking I could use more points on the Disc side to get cheaper instant casts.
Mostly I will be healing in instances (given the nice quick queues). I am going to be changing talents and glyphs given my current spec is for questing/instances and I dont need that any more. I will drop the Smite glyph and pick up Flash Heal or Prayer of Healing. Maybe get rid of the Holy Nova glyph too, given I wont be focussing on damage much - though I do love the spell and use it a lot (though mostly to kill mobs and trigger Spirit Tap - which will be gone from my new spec).

/single target VT - MB -MF3, DP, SW:P, MF3, MB, repeat
/more than 3 VT, VT, VT - (cast on the last enemy you target MB - MF3, DP, SW:P, MF3, MB, retouch VT on the others if they still have a fair amount of health)
