Leveling with LFD as Ass. spec question
Return to board index
I decided that I would give playing a rogue another try since I can do it solely in LFD. I decided to go the route of dual daggers (both BoA + 15 agi) because combat is so boring for me. I thought that for low levels, sub 40/50, I should go with Assassination as it boosts my backstab which will be my primary attack with garrote/rupture bleeds for longer fights.
Does this spec look good for a lower level character?
I though the crit bonus to backstab with the rupture/garrote damage bonus would be my main focus. I've seen people talking about subtlety builds for low level but I feel that it adds more for mobility while leveling and stealth rather than buffing damage done.
What do you think?
Take ruthlessness instead of blood spatter. That build is probably the best you can do with such a fail cp generator.
Combat would be my pick if I cared about most of the people in LFD. Better off-hand damage and more importantly, more hit, which is seriously lacking on gear at lower levels. I can't remember the last time a mob lived long enough to see garrote finish, unless I end up soloing one, which brings me to a greater point about LFD.
I would say to just pick the spec you have the most fun playing until you hit Northrend, then worry about it. So, I'm Sub. I probably do crappy dps but I can lock down and solo caster mobs because I've got Ambush, Premed and a 2 minute vanish. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to help out a Warrior tank with casters because the mage refuses to use single target spells with a Warrior tank. Everything is AoE, unless it's a boss fight with one mob. Everyone wants to use AoE, and be on top of the meters. I mean who cares if you die 50 times and make the tank rage and quit? Just look at my dps...
To me, SS spamming for 5 points then evis is just boring, so I thought backstab would be more viable in LFD since I can position myself. I know most mobs won't last through a garrote or rupture, but for a boss, it would be useful. We aren't an AoE class so I guess picking on casters should be my focus.
I love subtlety in later levels but from 10-40/50 it doesn't offer much in terms of increases to damage like combat or assassination do. I can see an issue in backstabs not generating combo points fast enough to evis/rupture before the mob is dead so I may change my methods after a few runs of WC or VC.
