Isn't a +10 int +5 mp5 gem better than +10 stats in a blue slot then?
So the choice is use a Prismatic in a single slot or use an orange and a green gem to activate meta...
So, with two gem slots that will be filled regardless, we have:
+10 int (who cares about the rest) and +20 int = 30int
or
+10 int, 5mp5 and +10int , +10 SP = 20int 5mp5 and 10 SP
I'd argue that the SP is negligible and will never make/break a fight. So basically the argument is 10 int or 5 mp5...
Pawn values (current as of 1/11 posted by FRMorrison) show Int valued at 2.7 and Mp5 at 2.4... even if you include the SP you still come out ahead with Int and prismatic (81 pawn value) vs the orange/green gems (76 pawn value).
Those numbers disregard the possible extra socket bonus you'd end up getting, but if you count 2 socket bonuses (probably 7 SP each) you do come out 2 pawn points ahead by going that route.
I'm a lazy raider though so I'd much rather only have to manage one special gem than 2 of them while I'm still upgrading gear. I usually put that prismatic in my Helmet so I know it will always be activated....
Back on topic... 16 int is better than 30 SP... I need to change mine... my last bracers had it, i must have completely spaced out or had been playing my Mage and Moonkin too much when i enchanted my current bracers...
But, either way, you'll be fine. It's not like one way will make you uber, and the other will cause countless wipes in a raid.

I still wouldn't swap the convenience and the raw mana pool for the SP bonus to that...

The better gemming choice is the cheaper one. The differences aren't worth tons of gold either way.

That was a really good write up... I have been reading that site for years now and I'm really happy he got the Holy Pally position.
An excellent reference and solid information.
So unless you want to disregard stats that aren't int or i'm wrong(both very possible) then getting two non int gems is better. Which makes me happy because I already have mine and I'm not switching.
I wouldn't switch either if I was already set up like that... it just doesn't make a big enough difference. But as YJMark said, its all about what you want more of. I think both options are viable and correct.
