The heirloom trinkets do a lot for both rogues and warriors while leveling. Noticeable self healing when you're questing or killing trash is always welcome. WTB Blood poison and rogue survivability buffs.
For leveling with daggers, I too like Sub a lot at lower levels. Once you have access to mutilate, Assassination overtakes Sub for damage by a long shot. (So much so that we call anyone specced into the Ass Tree a Mut Rogue.)
Combat with heirlooms is a lot of fun, however, and
dual masses
is terrific when you are dual wielding WP. In fact, until you pick up combat potency, combat doesn't have much in the way of mechanics that favor a fast offhand. By the time you're blowing things up with killing spree, you won't care that much. Just make sure to abandon that philosophy at the same time you upgrade from the heirloom.
