Help - This DK Needs An Overhaul (I\'m Assuming)
Return to board index
I have been reading up, sounds like I need to go to an unholy build (still blood) as I've been stuck in a 3.8-4.5K dps rut and am reaching out to this community (which I have referenced much in the past) for help.
Here is the armory link:
Assuming the resounding consensus is "go to unholy" I'm concerned that my gear and gems will need a major overhaul but I'm not sure so I wanted to ask. Also, I'm assuming I should reference the "3.3 Unholy PVE DPS - 02/02" guide
for spell rotation and talent point distribution, but if there are other guides I'm all ears.
Please, I'm open to any suggestions/criticisms as I'd love to really improve as I love to dps with this toon.

In case you'd like to keep on blood'ing, I took the liberty of making a wowhead profile of your char and fixing gems and a trinket. If you have the mirror of truth laying around from before that's also an option. Better than the overkill on hit that you were sporting. Pretty sure you'll notice a good difference here.
Don't leave DRW out of your rotation as blood.
The new and improved Sarlen
I am struggling when trying to do something useful with unholy myself, so I'm not going to bother with that ;-)
ho man does your spec and glyphs need a overhaul x.x i wouldn't recommend going unholy tbh. you don't have any set bonuses of any tier. and unholy get's a nice dps increase from 4pt9 or 2pt10.
since you have neither switching to unholy will not result in a dps increase.
Your also using unholy blight instead of Dancing runeweapon. Unholy blight was nerfed in 3.3 and the blood/unholy 50/21 build isn't viable anymore. switch to something like
. the variations are minimal and that's why their called cookie cutter builds. not much room for variation.
then read up on how to use hysteria and dancing rune weapon properly and that should fix your dps issues.
honestly when i switched from a MT to a dps and went blood my gear sucked. i was using the 219 axe from Htoc5 and had mostly ilvl 200 gear...i didn't have epic gems because it was an offspec set and didn't want to spend the money. but i was still putting out 4-5k dps in 25man in that crap. changing your gear and gems will result in a higher potential dps. but will not change your dps if your not specced properly and not doing the rotations correctly. make sure you do the research. otherwise your dps will not increase.
