You should go read some gemming discussions on the Priest forums. Intel is a very nice gem stat for us - it provides a lot of regen, and Disc priests don't get a Spirit conversion talent, anyway.
Who told you that Priests shouldn't gem for Intel?
Though, if you mean gemming
only
for intel...yeah, priests don't do that. But it's a fantastic stat. A Disc priest shouldn't be OOMing anyway.

Paladins benefit from intellect more. IE intellect give them sp and regen. Other classes dont have this benefit from intellect.
Priests probably shouldnt gem for pure intlect sense it dosent bonus them as much. If they have a yellow socket they can gem +haste & +intlect or +sp & +intlect

Paladins have a talent that increases their spell power by a % of their Intellect. Also, they have a spell that allows them to regen a % of their maximum mana. 25% over 15s, 1m CD.
Both of these combined make Intellect > SP for a pally.

Ok so i know the only class that it is "acceptable" to gem straight intel on is a paladin, but why is this?
I've personally healed on every class at some point or another in the games history and most seem to have the same problem of running out of mana too quickly while the pally over there is still sitting at >30k mana. Why is it so wrong to gem intel on other healing classes?
If im missing something obvious, please point it out
It isn't "wrong" to gem int as a priest, shaman, or druid. It always depends on the rest of your gear and your playstyle.
