He doesn't take him as far as i know.. he just say he sees only dark and dies and well the rest you said might be true. But still, I see it the only way to kill the Lich King without destroying the Scourge and that way they don't need to change a lot of thing in the old world (well, Cataclysm would have been the perfect excuse to remove the Scourge infested zones after Arthas' death.)

That's the thing though... they could have done that, or had the Dreadlords take over the Scourge again, instead of just doing the exact same thing; new King frozen into the Throne and controls the Scourge..... I mean, this is the exact same thing that happened to Ner'zhul.....

Is it just me, or does Arthas look like absolute ass in this? It could have been an average quality Machinma when it came to people interacting with objects. Should've been done like Wrath Gate.

What is the armor Tirion is wearing?

Okay, that was pretty cool--heavily predicted--but cool nonetheless. However it leaves a lot of questions. What becomes of Ner'zhul? I know in the novel "Arthas" (which admittedly I haven't read), apparently Athas destroys him and becomes the Lich King entirely. However, ingame its a different story. Arthas and Ner'zhul are merged beings acting as one. Darion mentions that the Lich King is made up of two of the most powerful entities ever known. And at some point, the Lich King mentions once being a shaman.
Licensed novels are often considered canon until/unless the original creator(s) decides otherwise (much like George Lucas and the Star Wars novels). So ingame we see Arthas' spirit move on, apparently into darkness. What is it about the helm that makes one the Lich King? Does it still contain Ner'zhul's spirit, and does it mean the new Lich King is the combined entities of him and Bolvar?
Guess we'll find out in due time. While there may not be a second part to the video, I'm sure most of the epilogue will be told though ingame NPCs once the video is finished, similar to how Alexstrasza explained the events at the Wrathgate and you had to take Draenosh's armor to his father (Horde side).

Lightsworn, Pally t10.
Looks pretty anti-Pally if you ask me. I would've kept him in Lightbringer.

Meh; Arthas redeemed, Bolvar being the 'tragic' hero, and Tirion just walking away.... blarg, I hate what Blizzard did with the Lich King, it's just a cop-out.
hee. I said on the other threads I suspected the frostmourne would be destroyed and the souls within it freed. I also said the armor, or in this case, the helm would give bolvar the mantle of lich king.
Did anyone listen though, nooooooooo
Anyway, it also resolves something I'd been thinking about Bolvar never returning to what he once was.
Is it just me, or are all those who befriend Varian always end up being dammed?

Doesn't look like the souls were freed to me......

Of course they did, you saw the poof at the end when his father stands. By all accounts the frostmourne is destroyed, and so they would no longer be trapped.
What you need a path of light or stairway to heaven to show otherwise?

There were other points though not covered in this. What about Jaina seeing Arthas one last time, or Sylvanas finally getting her revenge. What about the resolve of many characters in the lore leading up to this final moment?
Not saying it wasn't good, but seems like some things were left unsaid.. blizzard fashion of course

No, you just see the after image of the King vanish.... which could also have been a representation of the energy binding the Scourge being released. Seriously though, in most books, things that eat souls, even when their destroyed... they don't release said souls; those souls are just destroyed when the object is destroyed... So, Frostmourne might be shattered, but that just means those souls are gone, not free.

lol, ok Adam, its another act of neither have the evidense to back it. So I and everyone else can agree those souls were freed, and you and everyone else can say they weren't, done and dusted.

I'm going with what we know of the Weapon itself; no where has it ever been said shattering Frostmourne will free their souls.

And nowhere does it say shattering it wouldn't free those held within it either.

I'm not trolling. I'm just saying your saying when the frostmourne is shattered that my point of saying the souls within it are free is as viable as you saying they arn't. Unless theres solid evidense to back either up neither is right or wrong, wouldn't you agree?
and yes I couldn't resist a poke as king chin, Arthas became corrupted, as did Bolvar, and they were both his friends, coincidence?

Something else I thought of too. Bolvar has said to Tirion, that he must be forgotten, that nobody must know what happened on the frozen throne, basicly saying everyone must be convinced that with Arthas dying, the lich king was gone for good.
How then would Tirion explan the masses of undead still walking around icecrown, like there being held there or still under control.
Tirion to the press: "Yes, we know there undead are still walking around, no the lich king was defeated, those undead will just fall over eventually"

Hopefully this will be the last time the last bit of Arthas' humanity is killed.
pff yeah, after all the evil stuff he did, killing, damming and twisting thousends of people, and even tearing out his own heart, he still has a redemption 'the lich king made me do it' moment...
super..
