I just recently hit 70 on my prot warr and been leveling him (actually her) mostly through LFD randoms. After you get Shockwave you start aoe pulls with charge > thunder clap >
walk backwards
to position mobs > shockwave. So Yes I'd say rebind your key.

I've never understood why people say walking backwards is bad for pvp. What's bad about evading more attacks?

But I don't try to maintain distance by walking backwards, quite the contrary I force the enemy into melee combat while constantly facing him. Guess it's different for me since I pvp as prot so the more I dodge/parry/block, the more revenges and rage I can use.
Thanks for the explanation though, so it's a running speed issue - also I guess an Arms or Fury warrior would want to strafe to try and go behind the target, avoiding parries and such.

Backpedaling is very useful in pvp versus warriors and hunters to stay in their dead zone.
Probably seen lots of movies of rogues doing this versus warriors to retain stealth.
Also backpedaling is way easier for your healers to follow up when you are positioning the boss, should you have Charged before that. I always get rants after i charge Ony and sidestep to the wall.
