Shadow Glyph PVE
Return to board index
Disc remains my main spec, but wanted to try shadow for a change in Heroics.
I've been wondering about glyphs though. I went through the Anathema guide and either I'm blind or could not find glyph for PVE.
I currently have glyph of Shadow, Glyph of Mind Flay and Dispersion. Was wondering if I should swap dispersion for PW Pain?
I think SWP = Dispersion tbh, for heroics maybe even Dispersion > SWP. The SWPglyph only gives you 1% of your _Basemana_ each tick, which aint really alot. Dispersion between groups in heroics gives you 36% of total mana (or something). every1m15s(?)
In heroics you will be reapplying the swp all the time, because of multiple mobs and they die really really quickly. 1 swp wont tick 100 times, IE you wont even get all the mana you used on SWP back.
Use the glyph of dispersion. The mana regen from SW:P is hardly worth it, as the base mana pool is tiny, while the Dispersion reduction is both a mana regen button and oh shi- button.
Plus with such a short cooldown is almost always available for when you want to, say, run through the fire.
The problem is that SW:P Glyph provides enough mana return Lodum. Dispersion may provide MORE mana return, but it also takes you out of casting for the duration of the dispersion, which means a decrease to your mana. If you disperse more frequently, in a raid setting, that means that your DPS suffers. I vote for glyph of SWP.
I'm talking more for heroics, really, where mobs rarely live past a single tick or so. I kinda figure SW:P would be better on a boss that lasts longer than three/four ticks. I spend most of my doing heroics time running between mob pulls where the 6 seconds isn't wasted.
